Three off teh top of my head that were great chances.

Kane was one on one too slow and was blocked. Kane is one on one from Auriers header yet he takes a terrible touch. Dele with a better touch was one on one yet he let it get away from him.

None of those has absolutely anything to do with Poch's subs or Sissoko playing midfield and everything to do with our players not taking their opportunities.

I don't get this fascination with needing to assign blame, but if you must then at least part, if not most, should be assigned to teh players for not taking their chances.

I don't think the miss from aurier header was a glaring miss myself. Probably could have just shot but he just couldn't reach it.

Well our first touch and passing was poor tonight no doubt but frankly I do think sissoko playing made a big difference. Sissoko just can't take the ball under pressure and just immediately just passes it backwards. His passing is extremely limited and ball control is poor.

He was playing in a vital position where we needed someone to pass the ball quickly and accurately or someone who could take people on and vitally someone who can take the ball under pressure and not just immediately pass it backwards.

I honestly don't know what Sissoko does that a youth team player couldn't do. His touch and passing is woeful, he doesn't even technically "do a job". He's weaker than he looks and plays with zero aggression. His pressing was atrocious today. All he does it get it and lay it off, or he'll overlap Aurier and smash a cross that's easily cleared or get pressurised into laying it off.

If you'd put Skipp or TOB in there today I honestly think they'd have performed better. Sissoko is the perfect example of a shambolic footballer getting in the way of youth progression. He's not even a good experienced player for pressure games, he's a nervous wreck out there.
Worryingly don't think it's the last PL start he'll have. Poch has a blind spot with him.

If you're saying that, why is it okay for the people who handle the disappointment better to refer to the people who struggle with it more as embarrassing? IMO, I have no problem with people venting in Match Threads where the reactions are immediate and we're all in the heat of the moment.
I didn't say that it's embarrassing, I said that not losing your shit isn't embarrassing.

Firstly....WHY did we effectively play this game with 2 holding midfielders? Or if Sissoko was meant to be further forward he wasn't and offered absolutely nothing.

Secondly.....We should have played with two strikers, or Poch should have changed tactics very early in the match.

In short, our mangers decisions (or lack of) have probably cost us two points.

the sooner VAR comes in the better! Thats 4 pens weve had robbed off us in 2 days
Son's goal would have pribably been disallowed for the foul by Aurier.

We already knew before the game that they would be missing a lot of their players and we had a great of beating them and we blew it.

Had a chance of being the only team to get 12pts from the 4 holiday season matches and we blew it.

Had a chance to get within a point of 4th place and we blew it.

Had a chance of being only four points from 2nd place and we blew it.

Had lots of chances to place more attack minded players in the game earlier and we blew it.

We got lucky, we should not be playing a midfield of Sissoko & Dier. Frustrating

Yeah I agree we are in a better position than we were under sugar. But we’ve got a bulging trophy cabinet we’ve won loads over the last 10 yrs. So what’s the excuse now? Because these players who can earn double, treble there wages else where will be gone because this so called amazing regime will not pay the wages. Your thoughts?
So you think we somehow have the same kinda revenue to spend as the clubs above us, and the 'regime' is choosing not to?

I think we really need to stop blaming the refs, we need to take them out of the equation and just start putting these games to bed.
There were two game plans on show tonight as the commentators alluded to, attack and defend, they pretty much nullified us and scored a worldie.
I know it’s been said a million times but Sissoko....seeing him dropping into a back three tonight and then thinking back to the barnstorming runs he was making through the middle for France 18 months ago almost makes me think someone’s stolen his passport.
Surely Poch must be pulling his hair out knowing what he can do but he doesn’t seem to have that drive through the middle for his club as he does for his country.
Harry and Vic for me next up.

How can you not blame the refs when they completely influence the result?

We should have had two pens directly before West Ham score, we worked ourselves into an attacking position where we could have scored and were prevented by illegal play which should have resulted in two penalties.

It’s the refs fault, even if we played utterly shit it makes no difference, he has influenced the result, something which could be incredibly costly for us at the end of this season.
