    UEFA CUP:

Tottenham's Uefa Cup match against Feyenoord could be played behind closed doors in Holland following possible disciplinary action against the Dutch club.

    Source: Sky Sports

Feyenoord have been given a suspended two-match stadium ban after their match against Nancy was delayed by 30 minutes due to rioting.

Uefa however have appealed against the decision, made by their independent disciplinary tribunal, insisting that the sentence is not strong enough considering the consistent bad behaviour of Feyenoord's fans.

Uefa communications director William Gaillard said: "We have appealed before on a number of occasions.

"In this case the prosecutor considers the sentence is not severe enough. The reasoning is that there have been so many previous incidents [involving Feyenoord] to just give them a suspended sentence.

"We are asking the disciplinary commission to reconsider and a more severe penalty, for example, could be for the sentence not to be suspended."

The appeal is set to be heard next month before the match against Spurs which is set for February.

Spurs have played Feyenoord four times in Europe, coming out on top twice. The 1974 Uefa Cup final, however, ended in a riot after the Dutch side won on penalties.

That might not be a bad idea. Having popped onto Youtube and seen the home videos of the last time we played this lot I wouldn't want to go out there!

Of course all clubs distance themselves from hooligans. It's not Feyenoords fault that they have a few hundred/thousand maniacs who go to their games for a punch-up. Same problem English clubs had in the 70s, innit?

Just hope our game WILL be behind closed doors, and that Engslish police get a list of hooligans who aren't gonna be allowed to go to the game and can stop them in passport control...
