    SPURS NEWS

Curtis Davies has told Tottenham and West Ham to keep their money, insisting he's committed to West Brom.

The Baggies are ninth in the Championship following relegation, which has alerted suitors chasing the centre-back.

But the £8million-rated West Brom skipper, 21, said: "I'm a West Brom player and want to stay.

"I'm still dreaming of lifting that Championship trophy."

Yeah, WAY over priced and even though it's good of him to say he wants to stay and I admire his loyalty, does show a bit of a lack of ambition if he means it!? If he can make a move to an established prem club and get closer to england team then he really should do it, but hey, each to their own I guess.

If we need cover, which we may well do before the end of the season, we should, as people have suggested, get someone like Naybet, or give Dervite a try for a couple of games. This would obviously only happen if we had a lot of injuries and suspensions and would not last long, and so not justify spending a lot of money.

shows the kid has no ambitions!

Its not showing no ambition, it's that rare thing called loyalty. I respect him for that.

Glad now I hope we can finally forget him, too much money for somone who is not as good as Davenport.

    well said.

Though if we do offer £8mill for him it'll be hard for the club to turn it down, so the decision way well be out off his hands.

he just said he wants to win the championship with west brom, thats his current ambition. got to say well done to him on his loyalty, maybe he will achieve that ambition then set his sights higher.

If lennon came out and said he didnt want to join man u no one would critisize him for a lack of ambition,

I think him joining us would be a mistake for him like when swp joined chelsea, to sign for a huge amount of money you need to be playing regular to prove ur worth to the world and yourself, failure to play regular games can damage a player and he would be second fiddle to daws and king, when he does move he should prob go to a club like west ham or villa, where he would be 1st choice. there he could enhance his reputation and look to move to a big club like us when or if he is rated as highly as our england centre backs.

for me there are plenty of centre backs out there i think we could invest £8 million better elsewhere.

    He´s worth maybe 5, not 8.

we have bought so much young english talent at low prices and now everyone has twigged, and anyone linked the price goes through the roof regardless if they are worth it or not

we have ample cover anyway, why would he go to play on the bench ?

Well, it depends if the rumours of King needing a hip operation quite soon are true, then we would need a higher standard of cover than we have now. I don't rate Davenport, and Gardner always seems to be injured. Dervitte has a lot of potential but certainly isn't ready to potentially be playing in the UEFA Cup. If King does need to go under the knife, then for my money I'd prefer to offload one of Davenport or Gardner and buy someone more experienced.
