Only opinion obviously. Just curious as to where Lawro thinks we're a couple of players short (admittedly, think he's responding to the original challenge for the title question there). Even so, am struggling to understand where he thinks the 2 are needed. Unless he means a pair of de Bruyne level type signings, which aren't feasible for obvious reasons. Almost wish I could have morphed into Dan, just to ask him what he means. Sinclair then goes onto agree with him, and references the Rose situation? Is there one anymore? I assumed he would come back into contention when fit, and move on at the end of the season if an offer is right for all parties. That’s it isn't it? Ignored lazy Wembley reference as it is just daft.

Anyone got any ideas?

Ps. Not an open invitation to vent on Lawro and Sinclair. Genuinely interested in what anyone else thinks (re: 2 players) knows (re: Rose situ)?

I think we ironically are light at CM and could have needed a match fit, injury free, passing skilled, up-tempo CM. (Not a speedy CM, but somebody who moves the ball at high speed).

Well if you look at Lawro's predictions for the last few years we've been nowhere near the top 4, so nothing much to see here lol

It will be interesting to see if we go back in for Barkley. Dembele is reminding me of King in his last couple of seasons, where he was used carefully as his injuries prevented him from playing too many games. It's problematic.

Looking forward to seeing Winks getting more games as he was extremely impressive last season, and of course we have Wanyama to come back. I guess if/when Lamela is back it opens up the option of dropping Eriksen deeper (not that I'm a fan of that), or even playing Dele in the middle with Dier like the good old days!

I think we should get fourth but I don't see us finishing any higher. City, Utd and Chelsea look too strong. Which is nothing to be ashamed of considering how much more money they have to work with and the fact we are in a transition year.

That is still good enough for most of us it maybe that we might nor win the title in the foreseeable future.

I think it is way too early to be saying we cannot be ahead of those teams.. A lot can happen plus we have Dembele Wanyama Rose and Lamela to come back which will make the squad much stronger..

Llorente and Aurier will get better as the season goes on...

We are capable of beating any of the top teams if we click.

After the last 2 seasons when we've been constantly written off but have more points than any other club you would think that they'd learned a little. Wembley has undoubtedly had an effect and may still cost us points but I think any predictions before we've played both Mancs and have an idea about CL involvement would be premature

To be fair if any team were playing at Wembley all season I'd be sceptical of them getting top 4.
I think we'll do it, just, because even at Wembley we're still better than Arsenal and Liverpool. No one else is close to us. And the media have not mentioned anywhere that we have arguably been missing 2 starting 11 players in Rose and Wanyama. We'll move much quicker once Rose is back. Just wish he'd hurry up.

The Manchester clubs are too strong for the rest and will battle it out for top spot with the other getting second most likely, although I sound like captain obvious really can't see any other possibility.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe he/they just don't know the squad and those coming back. That’s a bit poor if true though. Only needed a cursory glance at the official site to see who's missing.

To be fair, we've done nothing to refute the suggestion that Wembley will hurt us this season so far. Until we do, the naysayers will be chirping.

Have you ever known Lawro say anything good about us?

He's an ex L'Pool player with a large L'Pool chip on his shoulder, so I take everything he says with a pinch of salt.

I was not catagoricaly saying we can't finish higher, obviously, who knows what the season will bring. But personaly I think it will be a very hard task that might well be a little beyond us. Your right that Victor and Dembele will make us stronger, but we can't count on Coco and Rose. Coco has been out for a year and Rose has vanished. Coco, as much as it pains me to think it as I love him, may never get back to his best and Rose may be sidelined as a bit part player for the season until he is sold in the summer. This on top of the time it will take to fully adjust to Wembley will be to hard a task I reckon, which is again why finishing four would be nothing to be ashamed of in a transition year.

Ultimataly I just don't see us catching the Manchester clubs, they seam a very different prospect from last year. But time will tell.

He really is a fucking idiot.

We still have the best defence in the league, the best striker and in Eriksen, easily the most under rated player in the entire league. Yeah we may only finish 3rd this season behind the two Manchester teams, but with all the money they have spent, they should be embarrassed to finish below a club that has a net spend of £20 million over the last three years.
