Following the very astute signing of Lucas, I think our squad is nearly as good as can be. We have cover in every position. I’d say if one was to be picky we could possibly improve our CM back-up although I really like winks so personally don’t think we need to, then the other main thing is improve Llorente so we have a striker to can come off the bench and score goals and be a real threat.

It’s refreshing to think ahead to summer and know that really there are very few areas we can realistically now improve the squad without buying an absolute superstar and i think levy Poch and co deserve so much credit for getting us to this point whilst still financing an £800mil + new stadium.

We really are all set to compete at the top top level for a long time now if we keep this group and manager together and the new stadium will be such a boost if hopefully ready. Still buzzing after that win on Wednesday.

COYS we keep improving. #inpochwetrust #trophiesarecoming

Totally agree. I'd like to see us channeling our summer investment in CM, #8 type of player. We have the distinct pleasure of having a very deep squad with dependable coverage in nearly every position.
I would debate the need for Kane having cover, as it largely depends on if we were to bring in someone like Malcom over the summer. As it would become a moot point, as by default, Sonny would be the cover, as we'd likely play more of a 433 without Kane in the lineup. Sorta similar to 'Pool with their 3 up top of Salah, Mane and Firmino. I don't really consider the latter to be an out-and-out striker. He has more in common with Sonny, than he does with Kane.

I was going to make a similar comment. He is coming to the end of his top flight career, but his best performances this season have been as good as anything in his earlier career.

which is what I said another way. yes he was great Wednesday but he is not as reliable as he once was. I didnt even think this was controversial. we need another in before he's finished altogether.

We don't need a CM backup, we need a new CM for the starting line-up. Otherwise, yeah, it's a pretty good squad, once we get in a LB that doesn't desire to leave the club,

Our squad depth is massively underrated. Unquestionably have the best defensive squad(including DM) in PL and one of best in Europe. The attacking depth has needed to be addressed and is. I think the few areas 2 or 3 will be addressed this summer. The exciting thing going forward is that as long as nobody leaves we can the really focus on Just 1or2 every window of absolute top quality. We don’t need to spread funds around 4 or 5 signings. It also means the squad will be stable and build great unity. With also the young ages meaning they have time to grow further. Obviously key is keeping Poch and best players. But if we can for say 2 or 3 more seasons our squad could be truly exceptional.

agree that Winks' potential is sky-high but as Dembele is obviously in decline we need another CM this summer.
Think he’s shown the last few games that once he gets a run of games he can be back to his best. Don’t write him off just yet. But suppose poch and his medical team know best and if he is a risk then Mabye we will look at a Gomes from Barca etc.

And even if worse case one key player leaves in a window like a Toby then we have good cover in sanchez and would just need to make one signing to replace that player like we did with walker. Obviously not ideal but if we had to it’d just be one replacement so we now have a great platform of players to build along term success.

think he was just coming back from injury. He’s obviously concerned about the foot. And it probably takes a while to forget/feel like it’s back to normal again. I’ve broken two metatarsal bones and I still get pain playing football 5 years later. I don’t think he’s finished at all.

he's said himself he doubts he will ever be fully fit again.

its not as bad as Ledley and the knee, but its going to continue to bother him.

agree that Winks' potential is sky-high but as Dembele is obviously in decline we need another CM this summer.

Dembele just bossed Matic and Pogba in one of the most complete CM performances int he premier league this season. With Wanyama and Winks, and both Eriksen and Dele able to play deeper, we have lots of quality and depth.

I think we lack another good passer in midfield. We are a possession based team, but only Winks and Eriksen are good passers. Someone like Lanzini, who's a bit like Eriksen in the sense that he can play as a no. 8 and a no. 10 simultaneously would be neat. He also has the skill set to play in a slightly wider role.

But our squad is definitely good, and underrated. Even during last season where we had 1 or 2 pretty definite starters injured at all times, we still had the pundits telling us how we only had 11 good players.

Nobody fancy a Callum Wilson type as an alternative to Kane?

Yeah agreed there. It's strange but with just the one signing of Lucas just recently it almost feels as if the pressure is off a little bit in terms of summer recruitment. I think without Lucas we would really have a necessity to add a similar type of payer to our squad. With the addition though you feel that any offensive signing that we make will just give us incredible options.

There is still work to be done, I think as some have said that centre of midfield could do with a creative addition and obviously someone who can play in place of Kane but also someone who can play in place of Eriksen too. Actually it could be a case of the central midfielder bringing enough creativity to not need an absolute direct replacement for Eriksen as we have players who can fill his position but just not replicate his input.

Also Levy's promising message of any player who we want to keep definitely being there for the following season. I actually think it can be a pretty calm summer window. Even more so if we get our business done early which would be fantastic.

We have great squad depth now and it really is amazing what levy has achieved. I still think we need another guile player either deep lying or further forward.

I mentioned it before but I really like the change in our tactics since the man city game. We have mostly stopped that ridiculously laboured passing across the back 4 and have become a slicker, quicker pressing team. That will only get better as we continue to add to the squad. Moura, Kane, son, dele, Eriksson, Lamela is just top, top quality only bettered by city. All for under £100 million!

Let’s see how he fairs against Liverpool. A 433 with small, nippy, pressing midfield is a far sterner test

He flourished largely because Jose set up Utd all wrong. That and he’s always had a thing for Utd - we signed him pretty much off him demolishing Utd playing for Fulham.
