When it comes to the history books for this season , highest attendance v Barca 83000 plus , lowest attendance v Watford at MK less than 20000 ??.

On a brighter note looks like a great crowd next week at Wembley v Liverpool even with the early kick off and TV coverage, lower and middle sold out , upper tier looks like well over half sold.

I'll be avoiding any future 'home' matches played at Stadium MK; I'd genuinely prefer us to play in Hull or anywhere else, or even forfeit the tie if we didn't have any other ground to play at.

My problem isn't with Wimbledon's dissolution, it's with the creation of a new franchise football club in MK Scums being dropped straight into the Football League without ever having earned their place there. I'd sooner stop watching football than see a US-style franchise model become more widespread.

Can't argue with that.

I'm hopeful there'll be a decent attendance primarily from fans who live relatively near MK or are able to drive to the game. I think there's enough of them that it'll do okay. It's just a shame that they haven't helped our core London fanbase with travel at all.

I expect around 50 bodies at a guess that have never even been to Spurs will try and be there. I have a big family that live in the Bletchley area and the majority are Spurs

but it was the same team (players) that finished and was on the verge of bankruptcy, and had nowhere to go the would of fitted in with the rules of League football. The new owners where the 1's that had their name changed, because they where moving in a completely different area. if they could of carried on playing at Plough Lane they would of stayed, but was one of the reasons the club was about to fold. at least moving meant the players at the time never had to try and find a new club

Better to fold than to franchise.

and you think that would be fair on the players at the time
I don't think they'd have trouble finding new clubs. But you just clearly don't feel like I do about franchise football, Lighty. That's fine, you don't have to, but I hate it and I'd prefer to see UK football shut down than go down that route. Not asking anyone else to agree with me.

You're entitled to your view but it's one game...just seems a weird thing to feel so passionately about, saying you can't bring yourself to support us for that match I find really odd.
Its not like it's even a common thing, it happened once, years ago....apart from Woolwich of course.

What would you have done if we'd moved there for the whole of last season?

I'm glad we've chosen a stadium [any stadium] that isn't the Stadium MK, as it means I won't have to take a season off following Spurs and all other football in disgust until such time as we move into our new home.

As gb mentioned above this has only ever happened twice in the history of football, how you see that as franchise is bewildering
They literally created a brand new franchise (the MK Dons - in a city whose football-supporting residents have historically gravitated to Northampton Town/Luton Town as their local clubs because there wasn't previously a professional football club of any worthwhile standing in the town) and dropped it straight into the Football League. I'm bewildered at your bewilderment towards the notion that MK Dons are a franchise football club. I don't see how they can be described as anything else.

I see them as a team that changed its name because he had no choice other than going out of existence and moved because they had no where to stay in their original area.

The thing is Milton Keynes (Bletchley) is a place I have a big chunk of my family living in, and even lived in Bletchley for near on a year myself. What I know of the area is it’s a place which was built for a lot of people needing homes after the war. Yes Milton Keynes was built a lot later, but a lot of Bletchley was due to the war, just like Harlow and Stevenage. From my time there the main support was either Spurs, Arsenal, Man U or Liverpool. Never ever met a Luton or Northampton supporter.

In your other reply about the players having no problems finding other clubs, yes a few might of, but most would of either been taken out the game or down to non league

Aside from 4 years at university in the early 2000s, I have lived my whole life a stone's throw from MK myself and worked in the city for a decade, and my experience of the locals is very different to yours. I love Milton Keynes the town, and hate MK Scums the franchise.

The owners choose MK as they looked at the geography and could tell it was a good catchment area for people who didnt have any clubs that close by, so they knew a new fanbase would eventually happen

it wasnt the only choice... lets not talk rubbish, plenty of stadia and places to build stadia in and around south west london and beyond.

The alternative was to watch them go bust, because that was going to happen mate.
If that was Spurs, and it was either go out of business or move 50 miles, what would you rather happen?
Go out of business and start again, moving 50 miles didnt exactly help them as AFC wimbledon caught up to them quickly

In spain teams used to go bust every 2 or 3 months, of course thats disgraceful but a team going bust and being relegated isn't necessarily the worst thing either

I`ve lived in Bletchley for 29 years and have never met a Northampton Town/Luton Town fan. Most peple support the teams, where they came from. Its the new generation of kids that support mkdons and the adults that cant afford championship or premier league football.
This game will be a sell out , my group have applied for 60 tickets and Lp hunters will snap them up and sell them on.
