one way of looking at it yes... another is AFC saved that ground as Kingstonian had gone into administration and lost the lease, offered them cheap rental terms for over a decade, redeveloped the ground and eventually made it too big for a non-league side to use.

There's also two ways of looking at what MK Dons did.
In reality the only thing they can legitimately be blamed over is maintaining the league position of Wimbledon rather than starting from the bottom. The actual relocation of the club should be blamed on the various owners of Wimbledon and Merton council. They'd been hawking the club around for over a decade...
That said, no MK Dons would have meant no AFC Wimbledon, so every cloud and all that...

Wembley isn't available. Not sure why or what else is taking place at Wembley that midweek, but I know it was never an option for this fixture.

Thats what confused me - not really sure what else was taking place.

Very sad to see this now confirmed at MK. First Spurs match ever that I will actively avoid searching for radio/TV/internet coverage for, and while I won't be rooting against us, I can't bring myself to support Spurs for this fixture. I'm under no illusions that my personal boycott means anything at all to anyone but me, but we all have our own lines in the sand and for me this is a bridge too far.

See you in the next round if we get there. :(

I know its going to be a crap trip up, I know its going to be frustrating, I know people have reservations..... but you know what, I want to support the team and I'm going to go.

I won’t be going, mainly because I’m in Tokyo when the game is on.

Otherwise probably would go. Haven’t been to the ground before so would cross another stadium off, have mates in MK so would be a laugh meeting them beforehand, and there’s been mention of strippers in this thread, which is always good.

Everyone is entitled to their own feelings on this and I'm not about to try and and change those views, but I have a genuine question, which may or may not have already been asked in this thread or elsewhere:

If AFC Wimbledon got drawn away to Arsenal in a cup competition, do you think their fans would boycott going to the Emirates because they recognise the parallels between Arsenal and MK Dons? Personally I'm 99% certain they wouldn't. And if they wouldn't, why is the Supporters Trust in particular so keen to 'consider the feelings of their friends as AFC Wimbledon'?

I went to the MK Dons vs Wimbledon game at Stadium MK last season as a Wimbledon fan in memory of my mate, and there were almost as many away fans there as home fans (good atmosphere for a terrible game). If many of their own fans aren't boycotting the stadium anymore, it seems like a weird thing for some Spurs fans to continue to feel so strongly about.

Went up there for the 0-5 cup game with MK a few years back (when they played in that Hockey stadium). Was a good laugh and after full time the streets outside were crawling with girls trying to drum up trade for a local strip club by doing a little bit of 'street performance'... So... I'll probably go, yes.

Mk dons stadium is in Bletchley and there are no strip clubs near there.

I support the Trusts position alongside all other trusts in the country at being against owners relocating teams in a different area of the country. Saying that this isn’t the reason why I will not be going...

I would need to leave at halftime in order to make it home before 6am the following morning :bag:

Try getting off at Bletchley is a 30 minute walk or a fiver in a cab, they will also lay on Buses

You mean the AFC Wimbledon who recently struck a deal with Chelsea, leaving Kingstonian homeless?
Yeah, they're a lovely bunch.

Afc Wimbledon gave Kingstonian ,one million pounds.

Like I said before, I'll happily take a ticket if any ST holders here are against going to the game. Will pay obviously!

I have a feeling getting tickets for this one without an ST won't be too much of a problem. We don't tend to even get 30k when we play an early round LC tie in London, let alone in Milton Keynes.

Another reason there will be plenty of tickets available for this game

We regret that due to the operational restrictions of fulfilling this fixture at Stadium:MK at short notice, supporters will not be able to select their own seat within the stadium bowl. Tickets will be allocated at the discretion of the Ticket Office. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause on this occasion.

£15 for adults . Think they could have charged a tenner given the inconvenience

May or may not be the club's fault on this occasion. In the League Cup ticket revenue is split between the two sides, and ticket prices have to be negotiated, so we can't just make it a tenner unless Watford agree to it.

What IS a huge problem is no mention of travel options? Surely they've got to lay coaches on...

£17 for return trains. So £32 with the match ticket, compared to £10 for the Third Round last year. Compared to £30 in a lot of seats for the Cardiff game - in London, 3pm on a Saturday in the Premier League - and even £20 in parts of the stadium. That's pretty outrageous.

No thanks. Let some Korean or yank have my ticket and sample the pleasures of Milton Keynes.

you do know that if we get through, and because of events restrictions at Wembley we might play there our next game too.

Wimbledon got themselves in the shit, and only had the option to move away or become non existent. it wasn't the players fault, who would of been the ones to suffer other than the fan base. surely if there had been a stadium closer at the time, they would of stayed. they had to look at the future too, being where they were based obviously sent them in the wrong direction financially

I'll be avoiding any future 'home' matches played at Stadium MK; I'd genuinely prefer us to play in Hull or anywhere else, or even forfeit the tie if we didn't have any other ground to play at.

My problem isn't with Wimbledon's dissolution, it's with the creation of a new franchise football club in MK Scums being dropped straight into the Football League without ever having earned their place there. I'd sooner stop watching football than see a US-style franchise model become more widespread.
