Start of 18/19 dilemma (World Cup)

No idea why but just checked start date of 18//19 season. Was quite shocked it’s Aug 11/12 th. Always thought they pushed back start in World Cup year. The World Cup 1/4 finals are about 8th july. There’s a very real possibility England and Belgium could get there. That’s not even thinking about Denmark or Columbia or france. So just say England and Belgium that could cost us 9 players at start of season. What on earth would we do. Say they both went out in 1/4 that would most likely mean missing 3 PL games. As Wouldnt start pre season till Aug 1 st earliest. Obviously it couldn’t end up even worse.

Also if the stadium is ready they’d miss the 1st game. Which I’m sure would a bit gutting. Especially for likes of kane and winks. I guess we’d have to play the kids. But they might have tournaments themselves.

All on the draw. Average draw we could easily top group and stroll into 1/4. Tbh just being without Toby/jan would be bad enough. Hopefully don’t have a CL qualifier to contend with as well. Makes it much more important to get top 3 this season.

Isn't it next season when the top nations get four teams in the groups automatically without any having to qualify?

Why not this season? No Europe and not far worse than Leicester were this time their title season.

Of course it’s an issue . Ok it’s 9 months away. But then are we only supposed to discuss things that will happen in next 2 weeks? May as well close youth and stadium threads then. Us and probably city as things stand would be the 2 worst affected. But we are in bigger danger as have such predominant numbers in Just 2 countries.

I think you'll find I was discussing it and I've given thought to who could prosper from it. Now, Burnley, can I have your thoughts? As @Marty mentioned, they're looking strong already. Push on next season and get that vital head start?

Think you’re missing the point tbh we ( so does every team ) have players from all the major countries and we will have to start season without the players.

Pretty sure there is a 20 day rule after a major tournament players have to have off
