I'm guessing that MoPo doesn't see a role for him with the first team, but this is the club's way of honouring the remainder of his contract.
At the risk of causing offence, my father always warned me to avoid any job that included "coordinator" in the title, because it implies a paper shuffler with no authority.
I'd be really embarrassed to have something as pointless and nebulous as "International Technical Coordinator" on my business card, though I'm guessing SF's salary will help him ease the pain.

What a load of pompous bollocks.

Coach Steffen Freund was left isolated following row over defeat to Arsenal
I wonder what in particular in that arse game got Freund so angry?
True, it could have easily finished 3-0 - we were lucky - but we had a positive approach with more shots and more possession.
Defoe for Dembele was a positive sub.
Sandro for Capoue was forced and Lamela for Townsend OK.

Was it that AVB did not bring Holtby on?
I don't buy that.

I take it the person who disagreed is a Ratings Coordinator. Shame on you, wakefieldyid!

I think it was the realisation that AVB was a clueless prick.
Sorry. Just couldn't resist the chance to have another pointless dig at AVB.
Been so long since my last one.
Apologies.

Wasn't Timmeh a Technical Coordinator? Would mean Steffen becomes an Inter-Tim.

The full job title is : International Technical Coordinator Overseeing Transfers To The Deputy Secretary of Global Footballing Affairs Reporting To The Technical Director In Matters Pertaining To World-Wide Liaising With Foreign Club Representatives.

Tim had already marginalized Freund and had he, Tim, still been manager then Freund would have been gone by now (according to various ITK, one of them being Jasper).
I personally thought Freund would be more involved with the academy teams, as that was a role he had in Germany (national level) before he joined Spurs and seemingly did a good job as well.
I sincerely hope Spurs keep Freund as this seem like a man who really care passionately about Spurs; and that this is not a job offered him as a "consolation".

I'm sure sherwood was the reason for the Ebola out break too

He probably isn't, but please answer honestly: would it really surprise you that much if its discovered he's somewhat responsible for this new outbreak?

I read the Spurs official article. I can see the need for such a role, but isn't this effectively a demotion for Freund?

I'm grateful to the guy for staying loyal to us.
I see this as a non-job to keep him around. Poch wants his own people and since he's the boss now let's give him what he wants. We all know if it doesn't work quickly DL will sack him so let him make the decisions while he can.

What a load of pompous bollocks.

Not really. I had the same parental briefing. And 'co-ordinator' is pretty much regularly the lowest rung of a team. Standard

Wouldn't pretend to know what this new role is, but that response isn't pompous

AVB was right all along then!

We all comment on Freund's love for Spurs etc, but his over zealous celebrations and his seeming lack of importance in the previous two regimes did lead me to question the point of him anyway.

This role seems a deliberate ploy to keep him away from the training ground.

Defoe on for an ineffective Dembele [Vs arse] was not a typical AVB sub at all - AVB tended to sub like for like.
This was a very positive move.

Could it be that Freund made the substitution, when AVB was distracted, (pointing into the distance at no-one in particular)?
AVB would not have liked that. Not a bit.
