barring injury it will be Caulker and Ash Williams at centre back all season with Angel Rangel at RB and Neil Taylor at LB. Only other options at centre half are Gary Monk and Alan Tate [and I would really fear for them if Tatey had to play CB in the prem].

Will be a bit of a baptism of fire tonight for Steven and Swansea overall. Would be nice if they could come away with a draw but cant see it :(

on the right of the middle two, He is number 4.

Started well (like the whole team did), Impressed me with his physical presence and looks pretty quick. Towards the end of the half he made a couple of mistakes as swansea rode their luck, the worst of which being Caulker heading ball strait in the path of Silva who should of done better. None the less looks a good player, and not at all out of his depth.

There's a lot to learn from losing. There is talent there, so lets see if he can move on and get better. And we'd rather him learn from losing with others than with us

He had a mixed bag, probably a 5.5/10 from me, made a mistake for the 3rd goal, sometimes too keen to get the ball. Did however make a goal saving interception early in the second half, and made some strong challenges.

The talent is there

Yep. He did okay, but was lacking awareness a couple of times. I'd guess it comes from not being used to players with so much pace, able to zoom into the space behind him in the blink of an eye. That'll come with some experience at this level, and I'd not be at all surprised if the Swans are singing his name before Christmas.

It'll probably take time for the whole swansea team to adjust. The difference in quality is huge. If they are going to try to play decent football then they will be on the end of a beating or two and being away at City is a tough opener. I'm sure Caulks will adjust to the pace and will improve game by game.

From what I saw of the game .........he looks a bit flat-footed and his decision making isn't great.
Early days yet and I will keep an eye on him.

Isn't he only 19 and playing against world class opponents like Aguero, Silva and Toure? I won't be surprise if even our defence are caught flat-footed by these players at times. Decision making comes with experience and seeing that he got first Premiership game at 19 years of age....he has plenty of time for it.

I for one am proud that he is selected in the 1st 11 for Swansea as this shows confidence in his ability and says alot about how well they think of him.

The midfield didnt exactly help him out in the 90min by always being too far up the field

There was one guy on SO who was roasting him. And all I could think of was the idiot United fans that are ready to give up on de Gea after two games. I guess we all have to walk a fine line between absolute reverence for our academy and skepticism, but hell I still hold hope for Bostock. This kid actually looked good against a billion dollar team during parts of the match.

Some people expect the FINISHED ARTICLE right now. In the real world that doesn't happen. Maybe on Football Manager it does, and that's why there's a massive gulf in expectations for people these days, I dunno.

In the real world young players have to learn their trade, just like people in any other profession do. You don't just throw an electrician into a job where he has to rewire a huge factory complex for their first job, you teach him how to wire a plug and the basics of the job first.
