i agree with nick - but only if the right player is out there. King and Gallas are nearing the end of their careers and Bassong is not good enough. That leaves Kaboul and Dawson with Caulker emerging. We need to be looking to replace King/Gallas as I would doubt both will still be here next season and i expect Bassong will have gone as well.

Swansea City FC defender Steven Caulker has been issued with a fixed penalty notice for a public order offence after an incident in the city centre.

South Wales Police say a 19-year-old man was arrested on Wind Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and taken to Swansea central police station.

Caulker, who is on loan from Tottenham, was issued with a fixed penalty notice and then released. Swansea City has been asked to comment.

England under-21 international Caulker is on a season-long loan Spurs.
He has not played for the Swans since injuring his knee in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in early September but has returned to light training.

Hope this is a one off and not the start of something!

I was out with a friend last night, he played at Yeovil with Caulker last year, he said he will be an England international in the future no question. Was always picking up MOTM awards every game and he is probably the best defender he has played with in his career.

Still would like him to stay out on loan a further season.

Should Swansea stay up. They'd do best retaining his services for next season.

He will develop into a proper ball playing cb. With two seasons premiership experience at such a young age. The future will bode well for us.

Jones has alot less experience and has done okay this season and it is worth noting Caulker has always been a CB whereas jones has spent most as a RB and DM

Is Steven a good name for a footballer? I can think of Steffen Freund. and Steven Tayor. And no one else, apart from Steffie Graff. She's not a footballer.
Nevermind...

Reid, McManaman, Smith, Clarke, Davis, Defour, Fletcher, Howard, if you're counting Freund, then Iversen, Kelly, Carr, Morrison, Whittaker, Ireland, Warnock, Nzonzi - That's all I have
