For all the hate he was always a strong presence when we played him and he has continued his strong play to this day.

But if Wanyama was injured or needed a rest, Dier could still slot into CDM with Wimmer coming in at CB. Also, Winks/Eriksen/Alli + Dembele wouldn't be the worst CM pair in the world...we don't necessarily need a Wanyama/Dier type midfielder for every game.
