Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has ruled out the possibility of making a move for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane this January.

Keane is struggling to hold down a regular first-team place at White Hart Lane and speculation has suggested a loan move to Parkhead could be on the cards during the transfer window.

Strachan has confirmed he would love to sign the Republic of Ireland international but doubts that Tottenham counterpart Martin Jol would let a player of his quality out on loan.

"I don't think that will happen," Strachan said of the situation. "I don't think a player like that would be allowed out on loan."

Though this is indeed a bollocks story, I recon that Keane will only be sold if he wants to go. He is a talisman at the wonderful Spurs. Even if he doesn't play every game, his presence in the squad alone is immense. As we all know, Defoe and Keane bring very different qualities to us. I think that keane is suited better against the bigger clubs (the top 4) than defoe, mainly because of his ability to link the midlield and attack ( and with players like Malbranque bombming forward he can afford to do this) and his general ability to get the team going. I am a strong believer that Keane will be a Spurs player for the majority of the rest of his career if not for the entirety!
    LONG LIVE KING KEANO!
