Xhaka's absolute class.

They've needed a deep lying playmaker to play through the lines for a while now, and he'll form an excellent double pivot with either Cazorla or Wilshere imo.

He'll be able to find Ozil in the pockets, which scares me a little.

- First pass in that vid alone shows his strengths.

This makes me sad. His passing is almost as good as Toby's.

I wouldn't rate his passing that super highly. It's good, but it's more akin to Jonjo Shelvey than anything.

They need a tackler more than they need a playmaker in the holding role. They could do with a proper Dier type. I thought that's what Elneny was supposed to be but he seems a bit average at everything. How is Xhaka defensively?

Atletico Madrid sign Gaitan from Benfica.

I swear it seems they only sign wingers but somehow it seems like they have none....

They need that but they've needed a DM for years and they need more than just Elneny. I actually am not sure what you're talking about, they've had absolutely no trouble keeping their CMs happy. Usually they're in a perpetual CM injury crisis and often have only 2 healthy ones all year.

Also Ramsey isn't a CM option anymore, when everyone is healthy Wenger plays him in the 3 behind the striker, which is probably his best position anyway as he can't defend worth a damn (wasn't he the most dribbled past player in the entire league?).
not since campbell and iwobi have been in the team, he further deep down to accommodate those two
Actually, looking at that I forgot about Coquelin. He's actually been sorely missed by them. He was fulfilling that role really well in the first half of the season when they were in the title challenging spots. Him and Xhaka could end up being a great holding pair.
Elneny has been really good according to arsenal fans

It would be interesting to know how much they actually paid for him as he was owned by a third party, which was most likely one of Mr Mendes many companies

Arsenal fans now calling for a 'world-class' striker. How deluded are they? There is not a single world-class striker they would be able to attract. Unless Wenger somehow convinces them that Morata is world-class.
Depends on your definition of world class but morata is one of the top young strikers imo and Zlatan is also a top striker who they could get

'Top young strikers' does not equal world-class. Even Kane isn't world-class yet IMO. Zlatan will go to United I think.

I think "Zlatan doesn't do auditions" puts a coffin nail in any chance of him ever going there tbh

Looks like Gaitan is something like €25m (£19m) from the reports floating around.

Never heard of the guy personally, what type of midfielder is he?

Not seen loads of Bundesliga but since Honigstein mentioned him I tried to have a look at him. Mostly the usual youtube stuff but a couple of games on BT too. The guy seems fucking competent, like a more dynamic footballing version of Dier, who will drop between CB's and ping balls about but also plays more progressively and gets about and is tenacious as fuck. Here's some stats:

John Cross was saying this was Arsenal's main target and the Kante link was a red herring.

Hm. So Kante has a release clause of 18-19m and Xhaka is 30m. Kante has just won the league in England. Xhaka comes from the German league. And Kante is the red herring?

I highly doubt that release clause is legit. Everyone would be absolutely all over it if it were true.

I hate to say it but they came second this year after their top striker had his worst ever goal return in 15 games. They ain't far from the title in our league.

lol it gets said every year... Arsenal won't win the title no matter who they sign, it's going to take more than a few signings for then to shift their weak mentality

How many are we going to need then?!

Ultimately if Leicester can win it, anyone can and I wouldn't write off Arsenal.
