The only thing softening the blow of 30m for Sissoko is that Cheslea have just panic bought Luiz and Alonso for 54m. 54 fucking million for those two.

What I don't understand is why, if a Sissoko type player is what we were after, we weren't all over Cuardrado for less money ?

I'm no expert but it's probably because he was shit for chelsea, and he's only done it in the one horse league that is the Italian top division. Could be wrong.

I actually have so much rage over Sissoko, it's stupid and petty and no doubt I will feel like a dick in the morning. But I really feel like we have completely missed strengthening the one position we have been crying out for, ie a technical playmaker. With the team we have I really struggle to see us get top four this season, I really hope I'm wrong, but I really struggle to see how Sissoko is the answer to any problem we have, The only posatives I can see is that he is strong and has a good engine. And if we lacked that then cool, but beside a striker, a playmaker should have been our priority from day one of the transfer window.

Anyway, at least we didn't panic by Luiz, that, as you say, makes everything a little better.

I feel you pain man. The very last thing we needed was another fucking bulldozer, even one with a turbo.

Because Cuadrado couldn't settle in England & wanted to go back to Italy at the first opportunity.. hence the original loan.. he just wasn't happy in England

It takes 2 to make a great pass,

although I have reservations Poch seems to think we need more players to get on the other end of the through balls.

From what I'm reading he thinks Sissoko is that player

You have to hope that the likes of Edwards will get stepped up, problem is Pooch seems lacking in trust of the Winks etc of this world judging by his recent subs...Sis I don't get at all and at 30 million I think it's bonkers...Disco I got, he's a class act...but MS? Na save the wedge personally...

You forgot to mention Chelsea wouldn't sell him to us anyway. Also they play completely differently.

That 3yr loan of Cuadrado to Juve is ridiculous. I read on Transfermarkt they paid 5m for that. So in total, 4yrs at Juve for 6-7m (assuming a loan fee first time around). Great deal for them. Shows how 'stupid' Chelsea are in the transfer market, and how little value money/players have to them.

Never seen a 3yr loan before!! Surely that'll be the end of his Chelsea contract and he will just move over somewhere for free. If only examples like this would put players off from signing for clubs like Chelsea, but we all know money is the motivation and it won't...

I'm no financial expert but this is some form of money laundering. I don't know the scheme but I'm sure there is one.

Well my Chelsea mate said that the deal is structured so that once he has played X amount of games they have to pay £20m? But they have done it this way so they can decide when to activate the clause for FFP purposes....

Whether thats true or not, I don't know but wouldn't surprise me knowing Chelsea.

Is it me, or has this been the craziest window? Not only inflated prices but which players moved and where. Don't like him, but didn't expect Bournemouth for Wilshere. Hart to Torino seems odd as well.

I will be interested to hear the real story behind Wilshire's loan move, I don't buy the "going to get playing time" story, surely if they want him to get playing time they'd have played him, he is their top midflelder isn't he? We're not talking about a squad player here he should be straight on the team sheet for any game.
I just think there is more to this than meets the eye, may have been a naughty boy, argued with the boss or maybe Wenger has just given up on him, too unreliable.

In what world is he their top midfielder? Ramsey, Cazorla and Ozil are all way ahead of him. Even in his prime (ridiculous to say that for a 24 year old) he wasn't as good as those 3. Closer to Ramsey perhaps, but Ramsey's best season, a couple of seasons ago, was still far better than anything Wilshere's produced.

He's got some talent, can't deny that, but even then he's been somewhat over-rated because he's an English youth product that's managed to break into a top squad under a manager who doesn't favour English players. He burst on to the scene quickly because he was better than the kids around him, but his injuries and personal attitude have held him back. He's better than Bournemouth, sure, but the fact that he's currently well out of form and could be out for 6 months at any given point is how he's ended up there.

Also, If Wenger was absolutely sick of him I think he'd have sold him. No point having him around otherwise. He's just simply loaning him in the hope he stays injury free and regains form.

Ok lets say he is the player that everybody tipped to be their top midfielder, he is the one whose injury they always say lost them the title.
I just don't accept that Wenger would loan him out if he had faith in him, you say he hopes he regains form I think he isn't prepared to let him do that in his side, I think Wilshire needs to prove himself to get back in at the arsenal.

Then they are idiots, they missed welbeck more than anyone else and I use to think Welbeck was a donkey(he is when he is pushed out wide).

Giroud being their first choice striker is the reason they missed out on the title

It's entirely possible. The guy is an absolute tool. Just glad it's not our problem.
