Time to lump all your money on Chelsea winning the league next season, assuming that Costa is a done deal.

If you analyse the stats of the top 8 clubs this season, it'll show that Chelsea were a top striker away from walking the league.

I'd wait to see what city do first

Everyone else is acting quickly and so do we- sack Tim tomorrow, appoint new manager by end of the week, start looking at new players from next week
No, we take the next 5 weeks to hire a manager then we wait till the world cup is over to do our transfer business by which point all of our targets have moved on or are priced beyond our reach so on the last week of the window we have to make a mad scramble to buy players leaving our new manager with a team that he didn't ask for and the whole managerial saga starts again.

Steve Bruce as well.

Paul Parker, Lee Sharpe and Danny Wallace, not so well.

To be fair Lee Sharpe was a pretty good player but a shitload of injuries and David Beckham playing in his position curtailed his Utd career.

Valdes is going to Monaco and has said his goodbyes

Ter Stegan and Luiz are apparently going to be the first two signing for barca in the window with Jose letting Luiz go this time

I think this Costa to Chelsea rumor is just the media jumping the gun. He may well end up at Chelsea but I don't understand why Athletico would agree to sell their star striker a week before their league title showdown with Barcelona and 2 weeks before the Champions League final with Real Madrid. All for a pretty reasonable price of £32m. Seems like crap to me. Probably just Barca or Real trying to unsettle the ship.

The Metro are saying Chelsea are going to make a move for Firmino after they have wrapped up Costa. I am assuming they are talking bollocks as the last thing Chelsea need is yet another attacking midfielder. Although i wouldn't put it past them doing something stupid like that, fucking money waisting idiots. I really rate Firmino and i think he recently signed a new contract so hopefully he won't be at Chelsea any time soon.

i may be wrong but isnt 32m his buyout price? and i may be wrong but isn't that only applied to spanish clubs? and if the above is correct then it's prob just the press putting 2+2 together as usual without doing their homework...

Costa will feel right at home at Chelsea...I pity the referees and us with him falling over every 5 minutes.

Luke Shaw look promising but £27m.....not sure.

Wenger must hate City.

If anyone pays 27 million for Shaw they are nuts.

Can't control when the bids come in, and everyone knows he is gone anyway. Athletico don't have the money to hold onto him. This way he can say his goodbyes by firing the club to glory.

Don't understand this mentality really. When you see the rewards on offer (look how much we made on Bale and Liverpool will make on Suarez) you have to take a punt when a truely special talent emerges.

Additional point, how much have we spent on CB's since UTD signed Rio? Or Liverpool etc. If you can find a talent who can last the course you save yourself in the long run.

Man Utd can't really lose on the Shaw deal IMO.

I know Costa has scored plenty of goals this year, but when I have watched him he really hasn't looked all that great...

Last year when Liverpool were gonna sign him most were laying into him. General consensus was he was an erratic striker whose cheating far outweighed his football ability. His main attribute seemed to be getting penalties or getting opposition players sent off.
I haven't watched any of him, ever, but he must of improved a he'll of a lot. Like you, I have my doubts.

Bale is really a one off, I don't think he is worth 100 million but Real were stupid enough to pay it. I would have rather paid 7 million for Vidic than 30 million for Ferdiand. For 27 million I would expect the left back to be world class and Shaw at the moment is not.
