Have they? They have a woeful defence and their central midfield is not that great. Are they just going to try to rely on a tactic consisting of scoring more than they concede?

Now I may be wrong, but I understand this is traditionally how you win football matches, yes.

Steve Bruce has long been an underrated manager. Thats a really nice squad he has assembled there, and with the former Spurs lads I'll continue to be keeping an eye on their results. Bruce's Wigan team that he assembled was arguably stronger than Martinez's, people may laugh but I think he may have a couple of rungs further up the ladder still to go on his career.
I think he's a good Harry-style manager - in that he can spot a player, and knows what sort of characters you need in a top level dressing room. Tactically and coaching-wise, he's average at best. And the way he fawns over Jose any time his team roll over to Chelsea shows he'll never be a top manager.

Even if Utd play poorly now they have a good enough team to get results, shame as i was really hoping to see them implode but no chance with that team even if LVG employes some crazy tactics. Im sure they will spend again come January and although i think they may not make top four this season i reckon next season they will be challenging for the tittle again. At this point i really don't know when we will get a chance at finishing in the top four again.

Managed to miss that Southampton got Alderweireld (sp?) and Mane in. Good signings.

As mentioned Hull did well too. Be interesting to see how it pans out. I kinda like hull these days.

Cleverley to Aston Villa on loan, confirmed by AV's official twitter account.

Aston Villa FC ‏@AVFCOfficial 7m
Villa have signed midfielder Tom Cleverley from @ManUtd on a season-long loan. More to follow. #WelcomeTom #AVFC

It's taken this long for the FA to determine whether or not he's actually a professional footballer.

Think they made the wrong decision, but at least Villa have a new ball boy (little hint, Tom, the ball is that round thing you have problems with).

I don't think Tom Cleverley is as bad as a lot of people make out. He's not great, but I think he gets a harder time than he should.

Cleverley isn't really bad, he's just really really bland. If he were a colour he'd be beige. Which makes him a pretty good for for Villa under Lambert I suppose.

Saw a couple of Cleverly games at Watford and looked good including a cup game at Chelsea where he more than held his own. He then made a good start at United but got injured and since then form/confidence hasn't come back.

Once we have a new stadium and rake in £3m every home game.

Did I read that ManU paid a €30m loan fee or was that just crazy bollocks ?

After the 70m Di Maria deal I'm not sure what's mental and what's not any more ?

How the hell can Newcastle afford to give away Ben Arfa on loan? They'll need all the players they can get.

Pardew had some issues with Ben Arfa I think, didn't think he worked hard enough for the team and was a complete waste when things weren't going well. That's why he's out IMO.
