Ryan Sessegnon is the other one I like the look of but I wouldn't see him getting past Danny Rose any time soon.

If we need to implement Poch's tactics, wing backs with good attack talent are essential. Rose is excellent but he is too injury prone, and Davies simply doesn't fit our attacking wing back policy (I think Tripper is a better backup as he can cross). We usually struggle if one of the walker/rose is out. We really need a new back up Left back

How many 'veterans' could deal with the intensity of Pochettino's system?

I wonder how many, if any, of our players could be considered as veterans? How much experience is required? Or is it an age thing?

I would say a player like Thiago Alcantara would inject that understanding of what it takes to really win things and he is 25. Kingsley Coman (same club I know I know) has technically won league titles in 3 of the top 5 leagues in Europe. Would he be classed as a talisman? He has certainly been around those who do know how to win titles.

Or would it be someone more like Xabi Alonso going to Bayern?

Bloody hell Bayern do great business. No wonder we're after their technical director.

Actually he should be our top target. Michael Reschke. If we appoint him I feel we will be in a great position to push on for the new season.

I got a sneaking feeling that these 3 will be signed up in the summer, and pretty early (ish). This is my opinion and nothing else. Rodriguez, Zaha, Barkley.

I don't think we must bring in these 3 players. But they are the types of attacking players that I would like to have next season. Zaha indeed is a good player that can get past the opponent defence.

We still struggle to break teams down. We are so solid but lack extra creativity. The onus is on Eriksen too much to deliver. So that is the major area we need to improve

Kingsley Coman would be awesome for us

Where was it reported about their technical director? Just like Kingsley, I don't see him coming. Bayern have a massive budget with the pick of the German leagues players, as well as many across Europe.

In answering the OP. I'd sign two players without thought and a 3rd 'type' of player. Then I'd ask two questions before I started thinking about the next signing.

I'd suggest that Paredes & Sessegnon plus a Welbeck 'type' would clearly be great to help build our structural depth no matter what the answers to the questions below are

My questions are then how much faith do we have in Onomah, CCV and Edwards?
The next question is what is our preferred formation?

Either way I think for squad size purposes it's one in, one out from this point onwards. I think Bentaleb, N'Jie and Sissoko are definitely on the table, I would expect rumours around Wimmer, Davies, GKN and maybe Janssen and Lamela but the money would need to be right.

Because Davies is a very different style full back to Rose and when he comes in it creates in imbalance as there's no one creating width on the left.

Then fine, bring in Sessegnon. But to flog Davies would be foolhardy. Sessengnon is an unproven teenager. Davies has never let us down. Maybe if the new lad forces him out of the pecking order by January, then shift him on. But there's no need to be hasty.

I agree that when Eriksen isn't on form we look toothless, but, it's too much to expect an Eriksen stand in (whoever that might be) to come into the team and change things around. It's very much a position where the player needs to be on the pitch a lot of the time. I think our best bet is to play Lamela there more often since we have some reasonably good options out wide.

Buy Sessegnon and loan him back to Fulham next season along with KWP. Then sell Davies and Trippier the summer after this one (2018) and start bringing through Sessegnon and KWP as the long term replacements for Rose and Walker.

It was reported in Germany but has since been shot down. I don't see any of the players I mentioned coming, just wanted the onus to be on the importance of appointing someone whose sole purpose is scouting, and someone of stature.

Guess one of Julian Brandt, Max Meyer, Isco, Felipe Anderson or Ante Coric (all of whom have been linked) for Eriksen's number 10 position.

I would like us to look at Johannes Geis - I think we did before he moved to Schalke - in the same way we are considering Leandro Paredes.

I wonder if we could tempt Inter into a Lamela for Perisic swap ? I know many on here will disagree but Perisic would offer far more attacking threat.

I wish we'd bought Gabriel Jesus. The kid is class! He'll be their No.1 striker next season I reckon.
What pisses me off is how they manage to scout a top quality player like him...and we end up with a chubby Div 1 striker.

Scout? He's a full international. The whole worlds known about him for years. If it pisses you off we can't compete with the world's best clubs for talent like him you're in for a disappointing few years ahead.
