GK: Lloris, P Lopez, Gazzaniga

RB: Aurier, Trippier
CB: Alderweireld*, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth
LB: Rose*, Davies

DM: Dier, Wanyama
CM: Dembele, Winks, Ndombele

AM: Eriksen, Dele, Son, Malcom, Moura, Lamela*

ST: Kane, Arp

Sell: Vorm (end of contract), Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen, Llorente
Loan: Walker-Peters, Carter-Vickers, Onomah, Edwards

I've starred Alderweireld, Rose and Lamela as potentially all could move on in the summer. I'd ideally like to keep them all, but they've been linked with moves away/have contract issues, and would need to be replaced (CB: De Vrij; LB: Sessegnon/Aaron/Chilwell; AM: Maddison).

Lol, I thought you were joking with that name, but he actually exists :D

Another conundrum is Dembele. As we saw yesterday, when he’s at his best, few are better. But how long will he be able to maintain that level? He’s turning 31 this year, and will only have 12 months left on his contract in the summer. I hope we keep him, offer him a further year, and save him for the big games. But we need to bring in another box-to-box midfielder IMO. We’ve been linked with Kondogbia, but Ndombele of Lyon would be my pick. He’s Dembele-esque in terms of skill and power, with arguably more dynamism and creativity going forward. He’d cost a pretty penny though. De Jong at Ajax looks a very good talent too, albeit more defensively-minded than Ndombele.
I agree with 99.9% of this except I wouldn't put Chilwell anywhere near our LB hunt chart if we need a replacement for Rose. He may become great but he is incredibly raw and has near turbulent form swings that would drive one mad.

He's only 20 though to be fair. To be honest, I think we'd struggle to prise him away from Leicester. He'd cost a hell of a lot.

When has it ever been sustainable when one isolated market is radically out of touch with numerous other seemingly identical markets (I.e playing football). The money doesn’t necessarily have to be in England, and acting as if it does would be foolish.

In your example, the collapse would be right there. Netflix runs at a loss. So does Spotify. That’s ok because they garner huge amounts of information on users which has tangible marketing value.

But premier league clubs are not effective vehicles for the collection of metadata as they don’t represent a monopoly on a service. Football is played everywhere. It’s not novel or exclusive.

You wouldn’t buy Bournemouth to know what their fans like to do on a Wednesday night....

At least I hope you wouldn’t :(

Because the overseas market has barely been touched. Still huge room for growth. That’s why the top 6 are so pissed because some dimwit at PL top 6 never had the foresight for the overseas market and offered every club an equal share.

Can't see how Chilwell is any different to Davies.

If we're going to replace Rose i'd rather we brought in both speed and intelligence.

I don't think we should get rid of rose. With his recent injuries i doubt we'll see anyone come in for him at a price we'd want anyway.

Central midfield has got to be a massive priority in the summer. Almost the only priority. Personally I think our midfield needs an almost complete overhaul. I very much doubt Onomah's in Poch's plans at all, and even if he was, he's not coming back with many more Cm miles on his clock than he left with. So it's a safe assumption we need to buy.

Ndombele would probably be my pick right now, though that would be complicated as he's currently on a loan to buy deal at Lyon from Amiens. I really like his team mate Aouar too, but he's more of a tenacious 8, where Ndombele is more of a technically proficient 6, think Wanyama with more football built in. Technically very good for a big strong lad, I just think he'd be more likely to fit into the Cm2 systems that Poch invariably employs, and he's a beast without the ball, and we all now Poch likes a unit.

Fekir is a fucking great footballer, probably the only player out there who comes close to doing the kind of job Eriksen does for us, he scores goals, makes goals and will see plenty of ball in games too. But he may well be on the radar of bigger fish now. He can play anywhere in the front group, including striker, so would cover that base too. Would also make hi easier to keep happy, as he can play so many positions, and well. Forsberg is a very promising young 10. And I do like the look of Maddison.

Wide forwards, Malcolm's obviously on the radar, and I think Sessegnon would be well worth an expensive punt. I'd also consider Thauvin if Lamela is off. He's very, very similar, even has a similar build and gait, but the lad's really grown up since his escapade at Newcastle and is now consistently producing the goods, and like Lamela, he works fucking hard off the ball, will press and get his foot in. Predominantly left footed but can use his right a bit better than Lamela.

If Rose fucks off, and I don't mind if he does, Lyon's young LB Mendy (I realise I've now bought half of Lyon's team) has really impressed me. Big, strong, quick, gets up and down the pitch well, loves to attack and looks pretty decent going forward too, not headless.

Malcom is a different type of player.
The guys discussing Leon Bailey was the one I was talking to. To me Lamela and Malcom is redundant, they do the same thing. Sure the more the merrier but i don't think we could keep all of them happy.

Who ever says get rid of Rose. Stop. Please. Stop. Guy is the best LB in the league when fully fit, ffs. If he doesnt kick up a storm again, do not sell him.

Out: Janssen, GKN, Llorente, Sissoko, potentially CCV, potentially Lamela(please no)
In: Modric, a backup striker, maybe Sessegnon, Pulisic or Bale

Let me dream about Modric and Bale returning. Thanks.

And he is genuinely an excellent prospect (I should be cautious stating this! However, he looks the real deal).

Obligatory YT comp:

He looks good.

I would prefer another kind of player though. A more creative midfielder, that can play one touch football with Eriksen. Someone in the Modric mould
Unless Barcelona end up singing him (which seems close atm), I think Arthur from Gremio would be fantastic for us.
I watched him play last year and he was so in control of the ball. It was very difficult for a rival to take the ball out of his feet

Lamela and Malcom are very different. Malcom is more zippy, is quicker across the ground than Lamela, more direct.

Indeed, and Malcom has a much more accurate shot from outside the box. He seems to specialise in cutting across the ball and getting a lovely fade on it, to use a golfing term. That’s a real weapon in any league.

History tells us that Poch prioritises power and athleticism in the engine room positions though. So if we do look to replace Dembele next summer I think it’s going to be a similar style of player to Ndombele, or Diawara at Napoli.

Top priority in the summer for me is securing the transfer of Sessegnon, We wil rue the day if he goes elsewhere.

Nothing is certain in football. How many "wonderkids" have fallen by the wayside?
I would love to get him but only for the right price. We are not city or utd that can spend £50m and if it doesn't work out not give a fuck.

I’ve wanted us to sign a midfield ‘metronome’ type ever since we sold Modric, but very few exist. I also believe that not having such a midfielder, who has the passing range and vision to open up play, is one of the reasons we struggle to break down those deep defences. Saying that, Winks could develop into this type of CM.

But I have to agree with danielneeds here. Poch’s comments about Sissoko was quite telling about how he sees midfielders. He likes them to be able to ‘transition’ it seems, and this box-to-box style is very in keeping with our high pressing, hard working team ethic.
