I say we go for it. There's no doubt there's a player there, I mean failure to perform under mourinho is hardly an accurate measure of talent (salah, de Bruyne). Plus, hes literally in love with poch from their time at Southampton, if anyone could get it out of Shaw it would be him. I reckon if we got him poch would make him the best LB in the league within a year.

He looks a bit chubby but is according to reports still the fittest player at united (crazy I know) and tbh Rose doesn't look any better, and at least shaw will actually want to be here which is more then can be said for Danny.

I know they're rare but United are clearly open to swap deals and shaw+cash for Rose would suit everyone: players, managers and club.

No brainer imo

It's an interesting one. Shaw has always seemed a pointless target due to the wage he is on.

But he clearly has a great relationship with Poch and a terrible one with Mourinho. If he wants to build a football career then joining us would be a good move for him.

Really? The most recent I can find is Daily star saying he's on 70,000 a week, surely he'd be happy to stay on around that to get away from mourinho?

when Poche was asked about Luke Shaw bearing in mind his issues with Mourinho and a possible swap with Rose his words were "he is not my problem".

Poche tried to get him to keep his weight down, which he clearly hasn't.
Why would Poche want him if he doesn't take his advice?

Read pochs book. Him and Shaw have an amazing relationship.

Shaw has a bit at the end talking about poch and says that poch calls him his "son" and then this quote " I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again"

I'd be surprised if we don't end up with Shaw at the end of this summer, I can't see any reason it wouldn't happen and many why it would

I actually DO doubt there's a player there. There MIGHT be, but he's had what, one top-performing top-flight season in his career? which could be an aberration. He may have already peaked and may not be a great physical athlete, which is a dealbreaker if you're a modern full-back.

He looks a bit chubby but is according to reports still the fittest player at united (crazy I know)
What reports? I'm sceptical about their existence and validity.

Rose for Shaw means Man U lose a player who has never been valuable to them, and in return get the player who was the best LB in the league last season. Don't see how that suits our club unless we KNOW that Shaw being younger can equal Rose's level. I see that as being very, very doubtful.

Maybe Shaw will thrive in being at Spurs. Keeping in shape is often a mental battle. Shaw is clearly unhappy at Utd and with Mourinho. If a better environment he might thrive.

It's a shame Rose has had such a crap season as we'd be hard pushed to get £50M for him now.

Guess we were linked with him more 2 - 3 years ago. Our wage budget was lower at the time so signing Shaw would have put him in line with our highest earners. He was also 19/20 at the time.

But now we probably can afford that wage so maybe now is a better time to sign him.

He's on 130k a week apparently.

The true is we don't know it's all reports but there are more saying 70 and only one saying 130, I'd be very surprised if it was 130, that just doesn't seem realistic.

The difference is, I quoted a reputable source. Not the Daily Star and clickbait websites.

Luke Shaws words, when asked to put something in his biography.

Firstly, it's not a biography, it's a book documenting a season based on the author interviewing poch each week, so it's a kind of ghost written autobiography.

And secondly, you really think Shaw would lie with numerous anecdotes and stories about his relationship with poch, and then poch, during the proof reading he obviously would've done before it was published, decided not to say it was all lies?

That seems a bit ridiculous if you ask me.

You quoted a website saying he "reportedly" is earning 130,000 a week 4 years ago. The guardian aren't saying there that he is earning 130,000, just that that is what has been reported. As I said, the truth is neither of us knows so kind of a pointless conversation

Not strictly true, he made a number of appearences and had a decent season by all accounts in 2012-13 and then obviously had that amazing season where he got LB of the year in 2013-2014. He "may" have peaked but I see no evidence for that so it would be weird to not sign a player because of it, otherwise we would never never a player because they have that possibility.

What reports? I'm sceptical about their existence and validity.

You can search it if you want, they may not be true but hence why I said "reports". Even if he's not, he was in fine shape at Southampton, something has obviously gone wrong at united, maybe due to unhappiness but it's not like Rose is in good shape either so we wouldn't be losing anything there.

Rose for Shaw means Man U lose a player who has never been valuable to them, and in return get the player who was the best LB in the league last season. Don't see how that suits our club unless we KNOW that Shaw being younger can equal Rose's level. I see that as being very, very doubtful.

I agree it may not be a fair swap hence why I said +cash but ultimately that's all mine and your opinions and we'll see which way the club lean soon enough.
