Very interesting summer coming. For me the only really obvious upgrade is Llorente. After today it’s clear we need Son wide. Sissoko I’m kind of torn on, as a marginal squad player he never moans and just gets on with it I’d kind of miss him ?. If we get say a Malcolm it could push out Lamela and moura which I’m not sure about. After that would just be replacing if say Toby or Rose leave. For me it’s our strongest squad in my life time and we are getting to stage of just fine tweaking.

It’s a difficult thing to move forward. We have to talk a lot in the club, with [the chairman] Daniel Levy, and get round a table and see what happens. After four years together, the club has moved on in everything: not just in football but in terms of the facilities, too. Next season we’ll have a new stadium and it could be fantastic. I’ll share my ideas with the club and see how we can improve. - Pochettino

Those were Poch's last statements in his post match interview. Looks like we have a very important summer coming from the sound of that.

The Bale situation will be so interesting to me. I'd love the idea of having him back, would think we would need to move Eriksen further back the pitch likely replacing Moussa to accommodate him. Our attack would be incredible but I just wonder if it really makes sense from a financial and squad perspective. I think it really comes down to if another PL team is in for him and if Levy can stand seeing him play for another club in the PL.

Seen loads of Tousart, he's been pretty much ever present for Lyon this season. He's more the busy ****/DM/holder/insurance man, either in a CM2 with Ndombele or as the central anchor in the CM3 with NDombele right and Aouar left.

He's very capable player, very consistent and reliable, not so creative but tenacious, industrious and decent technically. The other two (NDombele and Aouar) are probably more progressive types, he's less creative than those two. But as a busy ****, I think he's very good. Last mentioned him a couple of weeks ago in the Ligue1 thread:

Even we could muster a chant out of Aouar...

Wouldn't want Rondon but Jay Rodriguez would be a good squad option IMO.
He'd be a wing/striker option that we've decided is preferable to a specialist striker as backup for Kane. Obviously Bale should be first choice though.

When you consider wages, likely fee, injury record, other teams interested, squad harmony and trying to deal with RM, I don't see any way we get antwhere near Bale.

The Bruno Fernandes name in the media is interesting. I just don't see how we can add another attacking midfielder into the fold without upsetting people over playing time. 5 for those spots should be plenty. However if they imagine either Bruno or Eriksen moving back into Dembeles spot it would make some sense and help against those teams that park the bus against us that we've had trouble breaking down in the past.

I think we need a 2nd striker and to sort out full backs situation. I don't think Davies and Trippier are quite good enough for where we are going as a club. I am happy to give Aurier another season to settle in but I'm concerned about our RB options in the biggest games. I think we should have given KWP more time but it's easy to say that when you don't have to choose a winning side. Trippier has good ball skills and final ball but just lacks half a yard of pace that would enable him to go past players.

I think Rose is good enough but I guess the relationship is broken at the moment and it seems like there's no way back. Davies has had half a dozen games this season looking top class but you always feel he's going to get found out against the really top sides and I'd prefer a slightly faster and more technical wing back (like Rose in fact).

I think for all the other positions we are pretty well covered and have 1st teamers and squad players maturing.

Ultimately we will need another Moose but I don't know whether this is the summer to find him as well have 6 players competing for 2 spots. A top class youngster happy to bide time but we have that in Winks

I would love a marquee signing for new stadium but who and where and would it upset squad ? Has to be that type of professional player who would contribute and be respectful to the others and bit try to hog limelight

Sessegnon above all else. Will be silly money, like Modric and Bale were, and we will have the outstanding youngster in the country whose value will double again in no time.
Madison and Brooks worth a punt too.
We should try to get Jadon Sancho from Dortmund, unlikely to happen, but would be a real coup.

I wonder if some of the attacking midfield talk originated before we saw Lamela's full return from injury. I can't imagine we really want to move him on now (he may want to go back to Italy, but I have not seen that anywhere). And, if we don't move an AM, hard to see us bringing one in, unless it is intended to also replace Llorente.

I still want an attacking mid that can play deep. Eriksen has done it, but is still too lightweight there.

The way things are shaping up with toby we could have a very healthy budget before we even go into the red.i think sissoko would have to go if we bring another AM in. Personally think Onomah and Ccv will be gone as well add in Janssen Llorente Nkoudou. Amazing how it all adds up that could be £120-140m for players that have barely featured this season. Apart from sissoko who’s obviously upgradable.

Exclusive: Mauricio Pochettino in line for huge new pay deal to ward off Real Madrid

Apart from wanting to be sure his best players will stay, Pochettino will also want assurances the club can perform better in the transfer market and he has already vetoed the search for a new sporting director to retain his control over signings.

Pochettino has proposed a number of summer targets, including Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, and has been backed over the way in which he is dealing with Toby Alderweireld’s contract stand-off.

Alderweireld was left out of the squad for the trip to Chelsea, despite having been declared fit and played for Belgium, but Tottenham are fully supportive of Pochettino’s approach – even if it could weaken their negotiating position over the defender who is expected to be sold.

Spurs believe they can satisfy Pochettino’s ambition and that he will lead the club into the new stadium, along with their biggest stars.

Contract offers are in the pipeline for Alli, Kane, Vertonghen, Lloris, Eriksen and Son in a bid to prevent any of Europe’s top clubs attempting to prise them away.

Tottenham will also offer Mousa Dembele a new deal, but the Belgian has cast doubt over his future by revealing he will wait until after the World Cup before entering into negotiations.

There is, however, confidence that Alli, Kane, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Son and Lloris will sign contracts and the goalkeeper has suggested he sees his long-term future at Tottenham by claiming that “something big” is around the corner.
