Lol no chance they take a £35m hit on what they paid for Bale when fees have increased massively since 2013. They'll want what they paid for him at least IMO.
You may be right but I don't think it's that simple. Age plays a huge factor in transfer fees -- Neymar is at the height of his powers, and at the time they were bought Mbappe and Dembele seemed like they would be players you could build a team around for the next decade. That gives all of those players massive sell-on potential, which inflates the fees required to buy them.

Bale on the other hand is nearing 30 and is a borderline permacrock. Whoever buys him will have no hope of recouping the fee they lay out to bring him in. The whole of world football knows that Madrid will be looking to sell in order to go after the likes of Hazard or Salah, so they aren't exactly going to have a great bargaining position. United are genuinely the only club in the world who I could possibly envision spending anywhere near 80m for Bale, if he goes anywhere else it'll be for somewhere in the 50-60m range IMO.

Whether the reports people are reading are saying £120k or £180k per week for Toby, a pound to a pinch of shit says they are all just guessing.

Anyway @Trix said it wasn’t all about the money.

Neither of which are attacking mids. How do we fit Bale, Moura, Dele, Son, Eriksen, Lamela in?
I could see us moving to a 4-3-3 similar to what City play, with one holding midfielder and two more creative types ahead of him in CM. Obviously in matches against top clubs we might look to add a bit more steel to central midfield, but for matches against the bus parking teams (which is where we drop most of our points relative to our rivals), something like this would be incredible:

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier/Wanyama
Eriksen Dele
Bale Kane Son
Lamela and Winks would also be adept at playing in the No. 8 role in that formation, IMO. I'm sure we could work Bale into the side, not that I expect us to get him.

I think people are just trying to cram him in because it's Bale. I don't think we need him at all.
Damn right I'm trying to cram him in because it's Bale! Would we pass on Lewandowski because we already have Kane?

Now that's what I'm talking about.

But the overall options would be incredible. Anyone who's watched us over the last 3 seasons can see we've developed various different systems. With a sufficient standard of personnel we will genuinely be able to field a team for every occasion.

Serious personal question. No agenda, or hints. Please explain the hype to Ryan Sess...
I just don’t get it. I actually believe there is far better out there for less. I don’t mind 25m risk, and even that is expensive, but 50m. Nope all day from wheat I have seen this season.

He’s a 17 year old kid hitting unbelievable numbers.
He’s extremely over priced but I bet we are part of because how cheap we got Dele for and how much he’s worth now.

Personally last season was the season to get him but fair play for the kid he stuck with his team and in all honesty probably should stay longer.

Couldn't agree more. Even his "highlight" clips are underwhelming

I can't say I've seen a ton of him but he's seemed underwhelming to me for what he's hyped to be. I'd like to see more in terms of developed skills i.e. beating people with the ball at his feet, passing range, etc.

It's a mix between his intelligence, physicality and raw potential. It's more of what he can become than what he is, at this moment. If Poch can get him at 17, and he's open to all his direction and training, RS could easily double/triple his value.

There's a certain degree of any player we're linked to is immediately better than they were before we were linked to them in the forum's zeitgeist. Also whether right or wrong articles have claimed he is Poch's #1 target and so there is a sense that failure to get him is a failure to support Poch (see: the forum's reaction to the whole Barkley saga). It's a certain anxiety about the sustainability of our rise and fear that any perceived failure is the sign of its inevitable undoing.

Some people just want new things and they want the new things everyone wants because that matters to them but best not to think about them because they're hopeless.

For me, he's performing as well as one could possibly want at a very young age. Much as we are quick to point out Dele's age and records when he is downplayed I think the same should be extended to RS. He is so young and honestly I think he should stay at Fulham a year or two and see if he can get to PL and grow even more because games are more valuable to his peak than a pay bump.

Talented guy, but my main concern would be where he fits into it all. He's a left winger and that's really not a 50mil priority. I can't see this kid ever playing left back again before people say rose to sessegnon-you don't move back after a season like his.
