The only way I can see Bale leaving is on an expensive loan.

I don't think there will be clubs willing to pay a big transfer fee on, on top of wages, given his injury record.

He's also almost irreplaceable. When we've struggled under Poch the last few years it's usually because either Dembele or Eriksen aren't on the pitch. Both are absolutely vital in what we do.

You're half right, we struggle without Eriksen. But Dembele has played about half of last season and a half of this, hardly irreplaceable?

A few sources saying we are interested in Nordi Mukiele and have been scouring him regularly. I hadn’t heard of him but sure someone will know a lot more about him. Played mainly as a centre back this season but supposedly just as confident at right back.

Dembele is such a unique player. There really is no body like him in European football will be incredibly hard to replace. No coincidence we are top of form table since his return to fitness.

Dier for me is a stand in CM at best. Defensively he's good but his ball retention and passing, especially his long range passing is poor. If he kept it simple I'd appreciate him there more but he doesn't.

Yeah should have kept it simple with that awful ping of a ball to Alli vs Chelsea

N'Dombele from Lyon has some eerie similarities to Mousa -- not an expert, just judging from YouTube.

That said, if we're after a CM (and I hope we are), I'd very much like someone with greater playmaking ability than any of our current CMs. Not sure if N'Dombele fits that brief.

All that is true - but I am not convinced he really plays the way Poch wants him to play - with quicker ball movement.*

He is excellent with ball retention, less so with quick ball movement and incisive passes - and he is terrible at shooting from range.

So, we can't replace what he does easily, but we can find a CM who can contribute both in the attack and defense.

* He is very important for us - because we currently do not have a viable alternative. Winks is injured and suffered a drop in confidence. Wanyama and Dier are DMs, and Sissoko is Sissoko. But, that does not mean we need to find a similar player to replace Dembele.

How many times has he played CM for us, and how many times has he done that, or in fact anything close to that? He has started to play a lot of long passes especially to wide positions. This usually ends up with giving the opposition the ball. I'd much rather see him win the ball retain possession and give it simple to someone that can make a difference in the attacking third.

We aren't going to find a carbon copy replacement for Dembele, but we don't need to. Fergie never replaced his superstars with like for like players. You just have to bring in similar/better quality with slightly different skillsets and let the team evolve to suit them.

Agreed, our next CM needs to be a pass first player in the mold of Modric/Eriksen.

Wanyama's technical game is underrated. He can carry the ball with power elegance and purpose too. He might not nail it every time like Dembele but Wanyama also brings his own attributes to the game.

Mate of mine is doing a property deal with Wilfred Zaha. Had a meeting with his manager today (as in personal manager), who said he's definitely leaving Palace this summer, and Liverpool, Dortmund and Chelsea are the clubs in for him. Liverpool clear favourites to get him at this point.

He is completley useless in opponents third. You could say its not his job, but he gets on the ball so often, you have to criticise him for his pathetic final ball, shooting.

Dont bother mentioning the liverpool strike, cos it was a fluke.

With him and Dier at the end of last season he was pushing forward more and his passing was brilliant, just needs a run of games

Wouldn't surprise me if we go for Kurzawa in the summer if Rose left, good going forward just needs to work on his defensive positioning
