Sell Aurier? Remember where Walker was as a player when Poch arrived? Serge has the qualities to become a very good RB, and I’m sure Poch will refine and improve him over time, as he did Walker.

I don't like how he keeps whoring himself out to different clubs during the season. First it was his dream to play for Bayern, then for an English club, and yesterday he said his dream was to play for PSG.
I don't know why people are getting so worked up about it.

We don't need him and we don't need Bale. We've already got great attackers.

we need a good old fashioned CM that can get possession and keep it. Dembele's replacement, basically. If we keep everyone else (incl Toby) I dont see any other needs.

I hear a lot of this on here and maybe I'm remembering this wrongly but walker was a good player before Poch arrived. He won young player of the year in his first season did he not & was being linked with Madrid for a couple of years. He then dropped off a bit & there was improvement under Poch but he was a good player & England international.
I'm not saying sell him this soon but i'm not sure Serge is going to make it, hope I'm wrong of course.

There's no doubt that he's brought on Danny Rose and Davies though. He showed promising glimpses under AVB but I hated Rose under Sherwood. Davies too when he arrived was very average, particularly going forward but Poch has definitely made him fitter and more confident and that took a good season or so.

Oh absolutely, especially in Rose's case. I was just saying that Walker was a good player and talent that I think gets forgotten sometimes.

Never said he wasn’t a good player with talent. He most definitely was. But he had glaring deficiencies in his game (namely concentration and positional sense), issues which were, to a large extent, ironed out under Poch.

I remember I said us getting Lucas made sense and alot on here were baffled and disappointed when we were first linked, but a few years ago he was one of the best young players around, for me a deal for Andre Gomes is great, has the physicality to do well in the Prem, great technique with both feet, drives forward with good ball retention. A few years back he was also one of the most wanted young players too. Him and Dier would be great, especially because Dier can speak Portuguese to help him throughout a match.

Alot of people will disagree but a deal to me seems so obvious

The same guy that told me to back Dele for PFA YPOTY before he'd even played a game for us(££:D££) has said he's having a small bet on Moura being POTY next season. ;)

Rose seems to be injury prone at present, so if we get offers of 50m for him, we have to cash in.

I think Danny and Toby will go, hopefully giving us 100m (both selling for 50m) would love to see us sign De Ligt as Toby replacement, we then need a LB, CM (2) and a Striker.

Yeah I know, I wasn't getting at you. I just see a lot of posts on here in relation to Serge implying Walker was the same when Poch joined which I don't think is quite true, Walker was doing really well already & Poch improved him further.
Jury is out on Serge, as I say I very much hope I'm wrong. He has the right manager but it's not guaranteed that he'll be as good as we need him to be.

I agree. I don’t think Aurier will be with us next season. Poch doesn’t seem to trust him. Difficult to get good fullbacks though, which makes me think we should try all we can to get Rose to stay and back in the team.

Probably cheaper to offer him a better deal.

Dont matter how good your full backs are if you dont help them out and cover them city would still tear them apart

Manchester City are ahead of Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt (18) after the Dutch club put a £50m price-tag on him.

Reckon we should rather look towards Celtic, who has found their next van Dijk in Kristoffer Ajer.
He'd probably go for 20, more in line with our transfer strategy to sell old and expensive (Alderweireld) and sign young and affordable next thing. de Ligt might be a year too late, could be in very high demand - though him not being at the world cup might be a factor that have big teams going for the names of the summer in stead.
