Promises and assurances to players mean very little to me as we've been known to break them over the years. I want to see action, ie. reasonable but significant pay rises and big signings where needed. In my opinion we'll only need two, maximum three players so surely there's no excuses for not getting them in. No dithering and leaving things to the last two days of the transfer window would be nice.

Fraser Forster, Charlie Austin and Andy Carroll have been suggested in the past few pages. Is there a heat stroke epidemic? Fuck me dry, if we signed any of them, I’d take a sledgehammer to the new stadium.

At least Austin scores goals consistently and does so coming off the bench. Would provide good cover for Harry Kane particularly if Pochettino and the other coaches can improve his fitness levels.

Lenglet going to barcelona ... So may be they will not be willing to sign de ligt ...
I don't see where he fits there? Will have umtiti, mina and pique ahead of him at the least and Vermaelen has been good recently for them too. Money and status talk I guess, even more than playing time

We had ITK suggestions that we were in for Mahrez previously - is there a chance we're back in for him? Gray just a smokescreen?

Yeah there’s been too many occasions of us being blown out of the water for big signings by richer clubs for the assurances to hold too much weight imo. Even with wages increasing with the new stadium there’s still a few clubs that’ll pay more than we will

Because he’s a future or to bump his transfer value? Surely Lamela only stays if we don’t pursue Eriksen cover eg Maddison.

If we extend his contract by a year it will run out in 2020 so it doesn't really alter his transfer value.

Point is that there's no space for another attacker if we extend Lamela's contract.

How was Bryan Cristante? We’ve been linked with him quite heavily

He was fairly good. Played as a attacking midfielder, got a Assist after making a smart run and unselfishly passed instead of shooting. He was a bit sloppy in possession but it was mostly because he tried to create chances. He did a solid defensive work but he’s still a no for me. He’s a good player for the Italian/Spanish league but can’t see him fitting in to the premier league. Slow and doesn’t have the physicality, and isn’t good enough if we want to make it to the next level
