I think summer window is a "now or never" window. We must take some gamble like Bale, for example.

Todays game shows that kids like Sessegnon, or the ones from Ajax, wont help us winning trophies.

This ... 100% agree ... Sess, kids from ajax, that atlanta player or zaha wont make us a winning team ... We will remain just like this team. Not behind or not upgrade.. We need real winner now in this team.. now or never

Honestly I’m scared for next season. We could be without Alderweireld and Dembele, it’s a World Cup year and the window shuts early. If will be so hard to sign players and we need multiple players. The club needs to start negotiating with the clubs now and not leave it until the end of the window as we always does

Why would he want to leave Real Madrid? Modric is aging and he knows he’s his replacement. And he would be expensive
You have a point. I don't think Kovacic will be happy though playing behind Modric for yet another season if he doesn't get sold. I don't think both will be playing there next season.

Bringing back our Real Madrid boys would put us over the top and able to compete for trophies and actually win them. Buying from Ajax, Atalanta, etc. isn't going to get us there next season.

Agree. We need a bit of both. Sadly promising youth only takes you so far. We can't keep falling at the final hurdle, so painful.
Poch knows Dembele is struggling and is picking him on hope. Just disheartening. Did we get the summer recruitment wrong or has Wink's injury killed us?

Not knee-jerk as this is something observed over previous seasons and in recent weeks.

We desperately need a big game player, someone who knows what it takes, someone who can calm the players a bit or lift them once we need some urgency.

We also desperately need to upgrade the full back positions. Davies and Trippier are fine players but neither have the athleticism or final quality to really hurt and stretch teams.

If we focus purely on young players we will eventually get left behind when the other big clubs come and start poaching them. It's no good to us if we bring in players only to lose them a couple of years later when they realise we can't win stuff.

Buy some winners, Levy!

We have a team full of winners. Haven't we got something like eight league winners at the club? I know what you mean about the urgency though. Not sure if that needs to come from someone on the pitch or in the coaching staff though.

Both, I feel.

Many of us were wanting another CM last summer or a creative player as we've never been able to rely upon Dembele week in week out. With Winks already being injured it seemed that there was a clear area for improvement that wasn't taken up by Poch or Levy. I think it's cost us in a lot of games.

So that was gutting yet again, 8th semi final FA Cup loss in a row is not good enough.

On one hand there is the arguement that we’re punching hugely above our weight with the resources we have and clearly Poch has done an incredible job but there are a few things we can improve on:

-Set pieces! Man.U looked dangerous from all of theirs but we never ever threaten from a corner and rarely from free kicks. We win so many corners we need to use them better

-Style of play: we are quite predictable and man.u set up perfectly to stop us playing in between the lines. We throught Moura would help with this with his pace and directness but he’s not quite up to speed yet. But we need to mix our play up a bit which leads me into the next point...

-We NEED at least one more back-up striker of real quality. Llorente doesn’t fit our style and is past it. Instead of just always sending on different or more creative n.o 10 types how about putting on another striker for their defence to worry about?

-players who can score goals and change games. This isn’t knee jerk but I really just don’t think the following players quite do enough consistently:
Son (has been much better this season but still lacks a little consistency)
Alli (Yes he scored and tends to do so in big games but does he threaten teams enough during the games, so often he is just passing sideways or falling over, if I was a defender playing against Alli I’d be thinking just face him up and watch his runs behind, as opposed to a Sane, Sterling, Sanchez type with their pace and trickery it’s much harder to defend against)
Lamela (Tries really hard and has fairly good creativity but he barely scores any goals, is a poor finisher and often flatters to deceive)

Don’t get me wrong they’re decent players and Alli and Son starting is generally fine but if we want to be super critical and get to the next level then we need another top top level AM player like when we had Bale or someone like Pulisic and we also need a bloody decent back up striker option to Kane

-CM (Dembele and Dier as a 2 is too defensive!) for all his great work, when did Dembele last score or set up a goal? I know that’s not generally his role but usually one of the 2CM’s in a 4-2-3–1 can offer a bit going forward.

-Full backs aren’t good enough and don’t have enough pace for the way we play. Trippier has improved this year but he’s no Walker and Aurier is more what we need but has been a little disappointing, Davies is ok, solid defensively but not quite enough going forwards.

We’ve come on leaps and bounds and playing in our normal home stadium next year should hopefully give the players and club a lift but we have some work to do in the transfer market in the summer if we want to keep competing and to go closer to winning things, Man.U are 2nd this year and we are 4th and today that showed, we weren’t quite good enough + Jose teams manage big games so well, they just killed the game at 2-1.

Chin up and onwards and upwards but that was another tough one.

Thoughts on these improvements or were we just ‘unlucky’, I don’t think so, that’s 3 big games now vs Juve, Man.C and Man.U which we’ve lost and I don’t think it’s luck I think we have another level or 2 we need to go up.

Lots of people who are saying we should sign kovacic. But can someone please tell me why on earth would Real sell him???
He's only started 8 games in La Liga and he's not going to be a starter next season. RM have been poor in the league and CL win will only mask what is going on at that club. Madrid don't really have a promotion policy, they tend to buy and when Modric goes they will by big for his replacement. Still, I don't see Modric leaving for at least another year and Kovacic needs to leave in order to develop his career. I will be surprised if he agrees to being number 2 again next year. I reckon Inter will try and get him back, maybe with a loan to buy or sum such.

i think everyone needs to lower there expectations when it comes to 'big name' signings, we will only get our hopes up and be disappointed.

Well apparently we have exciting deals lined up already for the Summer? and we know what to do ..... that was the ITK in January, so we shouldn't worry I suppose?

We desperately need some leaders in this team and after watching Dele interview, we need to prepare for his departure too. This is going to be a huge summer or that big shiney new stadium may start to have a lot of empty seats like the 90s.

Levy needs to spend some of that cash raised from ridiculous season ticket prices on salaries and players.

We go to watch a great side not revel in the crushed floors.

Sort it out or ship out.

Done a great job getting to this point but we are beginning to go round and round in a circle. £2.2k season tickets don’t sell with a crap team.

Agree that we need to upgrade both fullbacks playing today.
Very good point re Dembele, great in possession but i can't remember the last assist or goal he was involved in so i think CM needs looking at. Kane backup also needed to state the obvious.
I think thats a lot to work on in one window but at the top level we keep getting found out so lets hope we back the manager.
