Please explain to us all how this seasons Wanyama is an upgrade on Dier

Wanyama hasn't suddenly become Lee Cattarmole this season. He was injured, he came back a while ago. When. fit he's better in many ways, more dynamic, presses better, can move with the ball, can play under pressure better, moves the ball quicker, makes more incisive passes, creates more chances. He also drops between the CB's when required, and as we saw against Brighton, can even spray a longish diagonal. How isn't he an upgrade on Dier would be a much shorter list.

G Martens I really LOVE!
We have scouted him closely since October especially. Would love him, but can’t see it myself.

respect your opinion but I wouldn't trust that league AT ALL! it has been a pure myth of footballing talent for over 5 years.
the amount of money teams have made by selling frauds is unbelievable, it isn't what it used to be 6-7 years ago, the talent pool has gone down massively.

i.e
Iturbe
Fernando
Markovic
Marcos Rojo
Danilo
Imbula
Jackson Martinez
Renato Sanches
Mitrologu
Slimani
Gaitan
Semedo
andre SIlva
Lindelof

we are talking about players who attract HUGE sales and have flopped, Hard.
The only success I can think of is Ederson and Alex Sandro (who tbh I dont rate that highly)

STAY AWAY FROM THAT LEAGUE

When has Wanyama ever made incisive passes or created chances for this team? All he does is pass the ball sideways or backwards. I like the player but I don't think he's all you're making him up to be.

How about the pass he made in the build up to his goal against Liverpool - is one that immediately springs to mind, it was about the first time all game that we'd got behind them.

I'm not saying he's Iniesta, he's far from it, but as a DM he's got far more to his game than Dier. And it may only be marginal, neither are "visionaries" but statistically Wanyama does make more key passes and create more chances.

When we beat Arsenal 2-0 last season, Wanyama played Kane through twice - once with the outside of his boot.

Koulibaly from Napoli, Sandro from Juve and Vidal from Bayern. Then we'll have a title winning team!

This. This is what i was talking about. Sess from fulham, de ligt from ajax , maddison from norwich, zaha from cp wont make us title winning team. They will make us just same like this team. A top 4 team who will fall short at the end of the season. Atleast For the next 3 years they wont help us winning a trophy. But are we sure we can hold them when they have the necessary experience and fight to help us winning a trophy?

De Ligt is young yes but imo he will become one of the best CB's in the world maybe the best, he has absolutely everything technically and mentally but more importantly even at such a tender age he is supremely confident without being arrogant and he's a Leader of Men.

He's obviously in terms of development miles behind Toby as there's nearly a 10 year difference in age which his huge in any position but even more so as a central defender.

This lad is 18 only 18 he's insanely talented for that age, he won't next year make us into a Premier winning team just yet and will need time but he could for years to come.

We either take the plunge now as we will never ever get another chance in the future as his transfer fee even in another 12 months will be astronomical.

But problem is when he becomes best cb in the world, will he play for us or we will sell him to utd/city/madrid/barca because of his wage demand or other situation? How can we be so sure same toby aldeweireld situation wont be happening with de ligt as well? So basically we will remain a top 4 aspiring team and wait for de ligt and other young players to mature. But when the time comes for them to win something, we will sell them one by one. Rinse and repeat.

Welcome to the real world. A world in which a mere handful of clubs can out spend all the other clubs no matter how well they are run.

Bertrand... saints relegation? would suit us at LB
Modric.. rumours he wants a returm
Butland.. Stoke going so he could come and put pressure on Hugo
Zaha ...Poch could make him world class.

Those 4 would be amazing imo.

This exactly! We keep investing for the future but always hamstrung ourselves when we threaten to win something.

Because he would, and has made that known.

That doesn't mean he wouldn't go elsewhere as well, or that Poch wants a player at his age, but he is open to a return.

He hinted on media that he wants to move to MLS

I'm not saying it totally unlikely that Modric would like to keep playing competitively but I can see Modric just wanting to chill out in La Galaxy for a few seasons before retiring as well. He's already achieved legend status at RM and has won multiple trophies.
