Really don't get the hype with Barkley he's no better than what we have imo
A brilliant player, who can play in Alli position, or Dembeles. Young and English, Poch would turn him into a superstar. Would be magnificent for us

I think this season has shown that we've now reached a tipping point where players earn so much money some just dont give a shit and being talented is not enough. Not that it ever was but I think its more so now.
Newcastle, Villa, Man City and Chelsea turning up when they feel like it if at all.
It seems to me no coincidence that us and Leicester have the best team spirit and are in 1st and 2nd place.
For a long while a massive part of PL Management has been about getting these overpaid so called superstars to put a shift in so while its important that anyone we bring in has ability I'd say its more important they fit our (oh God I'm going to say it :censored:) philosophy.
I've no idea whether a certain player would fit into our squad or not, does anybody really, so in Poch we trust. Although I think we all know certain arseholes who wouldn't.
I would say though we need at least another striker and another dm.
If we'd brought in ANYONE from the Leicester team last summer we'd have moaned like fk and they've just shown that in the right system and with commitment anything is possible. Just square pegs in square holes. Simplez.
So I'll be holding any opinions on any signings back until we see what they can do.
Just look at Alli and Wimmer and on the other hand Soldado and.... well, take your pick lol.

Nice, i'd prefer the below but happy with those players:

Schneiderlin 20m
Lacazette 25m
Batshuayi 25m

Id be rather chuffed with that and can see all of these on our list.

Can Schneiderlin drop and playing the 3rd CB ala Dier? I've never had the pleasure of seeing him much live.

I know others have questioned the financials here but with some player sales, TV revenue + CL money to follow, 70-100m isn't as whacky as it used to be.

We need a more capable squad that can really keep up the tempo moving into next season - unfortunately the weeks we've lost dembele and alli showed us up in respect of pushing Leicester harder.

I have full faith in the club doing this right though. Exciting times.

Tottenham must improve squad to compete in Champions League and Premier League, warns Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has warned Tottenham they need a better squad to compete in both the Premier League and theChampions League.

Unless Arsenal beat Aston Villa by an improbable margin, a draw at Newcastle on Sunday will be enough to ensure Tottenham finish second in the Premier League. They are guaranteed a place in the group stages of Europe’s main club competition next term.

Pochettino committed his future to Spurs this week by signing a new five-year deal to stay at White Hart Lane until 2021. But to repeat what they have done this term, Pochettino believes he needs better players.

“We have to improve our squad – this is very clear,” said Pochettino. “We are all agreed about that. The Champions League is a different level, and to compete in that, the Premier League and the domestic cups is very important.

“You need a very good balance. Our challenge is to continue as we have done and the Champions League demands a lot of energy, more than the Europa League. It’s a very different competition.

“For that we need to ensure we have a strong squad who can compete in all competitions.”

To be honest, is there really any point in this article? That's not a dig at you mate, but a pop at the waste of effort by the article writer.

As if Poch would've just signed a new contract if he hadn't been assured of everything within the article?

Hopefully this is a thinly veiled message to the supporters, letting us know improvements are afoot.

Schneiderlin 20m
Gotze 25m
Batshuayi 25m

Lacazette (better striker, better footballer, more tenacious) over Batshuayi and I think that would be an absolute corker of window.

Schniederlin
Gotze
Lacazette

Move Chadli, Carroll and Fazio on. Add Pritchard & KWP to the first team squad.

None of those signings will happen though.

I've not seen Barkley have 1 brilliant game let alone him be a brilliant player. He is young and may become a good player but I have seen little to suggest he is one now and the money it would cost to get him it would not be a good deal for us imo

Who is Breel Embolo? (Yes I know it's The Metro)..

Tottenham are reportedly leading the race to sign FC Basel’s Breel Embolo.

Plays for Basel, really good young prospect. Athletic unit but with good skill set and work ethic. Has been playing as a wide forward a lot this season I believe but has potential to make a CF a in the Kane/Lukaku mould eventually. I like him a lot.

I'll politely disagree. I think he's a greedy bastard & not at all a team player.

That's not to say he's a bad player, he isn't. I just don't personally understand the hype from the pundits.
