I really think chadil can do the job as back up striker and I would use a combination of Bentaleb and Mason for back up CDM. We shouldn't bring in someone who can only play CDM because realistically they will hardly get any games.

Selling Bentaleb would be a complete joke, we have a quite a few of talented youngsters who wouldn't make our starting xi so i guess we should sell onomah, ccv, kwp and edwards since they won't be getting any game time either.

Anyway Dembele 28-29, and will never be able to play champions league and the league match in the same week. There is enough games for all of our midfielders atm, except for winks.

I don't think Poch is looking for backups in any position - it's about having players who can play regularly and not just sit on the bench. It keeps them match-ready and part of the group pushing for titles/cups rather than a disconnected bystander.

what about that Michy Batshuayi fella?.... he could do a job and might fit right in with his Belgian colleagues...

Then we'd have Kane, Chadli + another. Not a bad thing. Gives us more room to revert to two up front for some games and means Kane could be rested completely, rather than being on the bench, for cup games. It might be that N'Jie, Chadli and Son fulfil these needs between them, but only time we tell.

CDM would mean Dier could play RCB if Alderweireld is injured, as well as allowing Dier to be rotated/covered in midfield. Wimmer is a LCB and more similar in playing style to Vertonghen.

I'm not suggesting we spend big money, but sign affordable young players, on low wages, who will be happy do make do with being second choice for the first season or so.

Honestly I haven't seen much of him but I know he's high on a few people's lists around here.

I think it really comes down to if Poch thinks he can use him with Kane and not just instead of. It's important all the players within our squad feel part of it. Otherwise, unless they're paid enough or just out-right saints, any player not playing or only being a bit-part is going to be understandably a bit pissed off.

Striker backup for me, and that's it. Maybes CB if Poch doesn't think CCV is ready yet (preferably an older, experienced option to easily make way for CCV soon after). I fear Bentaleb may try to engineer a move out if he doesn't take the starting spot back, but I wonder if we might be able to keep hold of him if we secure CL next season. Otherwise, we may have to replace him. The young English kid playing in France would do, or Lewis Cook.

If we do get CL, our hunt for a quality backup ST will be easier...would definitely like Lacazette, hasn't been as good this year in comparison to last, but will still project a solid 15-20 goals this year, although dealing with Lyon would be tricky...

Embolo would be fantastic, but a bit of a gamble, Basel want a lot of money for him, taking £30m+ and I don't think we would pay that...but could be the next Drogba though...

Outside of that, think we are okay, probably more about moving players on (Yedlin, Faz, with Onomah, KWP and Winks going out on loan)...

Maybe look at a young backup keeper, depending how good we think McGee or Voss may turn out, Pickford would be a good shout

Not happily - but we have a log-jam with Carroll, Mason and Bentaleb. Seems like someone needs to go, or they all three might end up unhappy with playing time. Carroll has really grown on me in the deep-lying playmaker role - he needs to be paired with a strong DM, but I really like his decision-making and passing from deep.

I figure Bentaleb brings the biggest price - if there were a big target that we wanted - thats where were are going to free up money.

Carroll, Mason and Bentaleb are not exactly similar I think if we make the Champions League we will need them all look the injuries we have had this season and it actually has not affected us because we are strong in this area. I`d actually bring in one more defensive midfielder as competition/cover for Dier..

Established sought after players like lacazette* are never going to agree to sign for a club were there is a very good chance they will not be first choice imo sadly we have to get a up and coming or somebody from a much crappier leauge.
