That's the thing though, they're not questioning it, they've decided with finality that it's a matter of when, and not if.
Same thing on talk sport, Matt Scott (gooner) said literally this about 30 mins ago.

What I've noticed is with most other clubs, since the new TV deal, the medias collective line is that English clubs don't need to sell their best players anymore....however that's quickly forgotten when talking about Spurs re: Kane and Alli.

Playing Devils advocate I suspect it's only because our players are good enough to be linked to the "uber clubs". History tends to suggest that those sides get their targets so it's understandable why the press would think it's a done deal.

Even in my heart I know that if Real came in for Alli it wouldn't be a case of if it would be a case of how much. Teams like real don't care about breaking the bank.

Still not bothered about it though. Real/Barca can't buy every player in the world and no one else could pry them off us.

This is my hope, that although Real/Barca could theoretically attain them, the figures involved to make it happen would be utterly astonishing and they would realise there is much better value elsewhere.

Exactly also helps that no one in Europe values English players as highly as we do due to the general shitness of the national side. Can't see Real paying the £150m it would cost to get Alli when they have a lot of other options that are more financially attractive.

They just can't, or simply refuse, to grasp the fact that the team is united and will most likely not force any moves or even want to leave the group. The media is always pro everything and anything other than Tottenham. so it's highly surprising they are starting to wank themselves silly about this exodus in the summer they crave so much.

Real aren't worried about value for money. The have presidential elections and the winner will be the one who promises the fans to bring in the biggest names in football whatever the cost.
Unfortunately kane and alli are becoming big names.

Just have to keep them happy. Well paid and getting success with us.

Don't know if its just because I am a Spurs fan but I really feel there's a strong undercurrent of hatred in the media in general towards our current success. It's like we're pissing on the establishment of Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal or something and how fkin dare you.
Its just seems like constant negative jibes ALL THE FKIN TIME.
Kane wont stay.
Alli wont stay.
Poch wont stay.
Toby wont stay.
They'll never win anything.
Blah blah blah.
Well piss off ass hats because we're here to stay.

Not sure why people get so bothered, Sunday supplement is just full of sun and daily mail journos talking about stories in there rubbish papers. I don't pay any attention when they write those stories and definitely don't pay them no mind when they're talking about them either.

They can never just give us credit and leave it at that. And every time it's about who we're losing next.

The reality is we havn't sold anyone to another premier league, that we havn't wanted to sell, for years.

You would think large sections of the media would be acknowledging how well we've done when you consider our financial capabilities compared to that of our rivals. I mean, if City fans can recognise it, you would think some in the fucking media would.

For example, I can't recall ever hearing 1 single pundit mention how many players Arsenal have had leave in the last 6 or 7 years to PL rivals. Fkin loads and yet its never mentioned. You'd think it would come up when talking about Ozil and Sanchez but no. Nothing.

Yeap and you forgot to mention we are still Spursey and it's just a matter of time before we bottle it again, I really hope to fuck this season sends those 2 phrases to the history books for good.

IIRC when Man City won their 1st Premier League title weren't Man Utd further ahead than Chelsea are now with less games to play, yet you never hear than Man Utd bottled it

All that stuff only disappears when you win something. Let's not forget Tottenham have been "a sleeping giant" for a while. The great underachievers in the EPL era. How well we are run as a club does not sell newspapers. Failing, selling, or trophies are the currency of newspapers and all rumours that go with it.

Much better to print Poch is leaving for Barcelona, than printing an article saying we are really starting to flourish as a club under sound financial guidance.

Besides, it's not as if there haven't been any nice things printed! Let's not get to selective with our views on how everyone is against us.
