I think Sport governing bodies in the UK have been burying their heads up their arses and whistling dixie for decades.

UKAD knew how rife doping was pre the London Olympics but did not want their big event spoiled. Doping is so sophisticated and easy to hide, it's almost mandatory to succeed in athletics, just as it was in cycling for decades.

They were given cast iron proof about this doctor but sat on it hoping it would go away, just as cycling's authorities did for years, rather than have their "product" tainted.

Arsene Wenger must be feeling a bit uncomfortable right now, having publicly stated he believed "other teams" players had doped.

Its like Tennis and the betting scandals, it just won't be looked at in all seriousness.
Sure a few might be chucked under the bus to satisfy the mob, but I seriously doubt we will see anything of note happen and certainly NOT in regards to teams having points docked.

In my view I see no reason why all those who are named to play are not tested before a game and then with random checks afterwards. There is so much money in the sport, enough could be spent to have these things checked at a much faster rate.

None of this is to do with Vardy at all.

Leicester are mentioned only because of the linkage with Huth having been at Chelsea at a certain time

I wont mention this again. If people want to still keep burying their heads in the sand and not reading the reports and keep associating this with Vardy's supposed super human strength this season then they are welcome to now, i won't be correcting anymore
I don't believe its all linked with Huth at all, how about the fact The Chavs and Leicester have the same manager during the time frame of the rumour of the docs use by clubs, its too easy to find links, when no one knows fuck all has fact.

What connection do Leicester have to Mapei?

A largely secret one. I can't find anything in English, but here is an interview Squinzi gave that was published on 25 Feb. Here is the image of the article and you can see the bit about Leicester and Ranieri in the bottom right corner.

Google translation:

Squinzi: "The Mapei center of Olgiate always follows several teams to cycling summit, in addition to Juventus and Leicester which is amazing in the Premier. Ranieri is very pleased with this collaboration and the results are. "

This is the discussion on an Italian forum where I found the article screenshot.

Fucking hell, that is pretty interesting isn't it. Juve were known to be systematically doping (not just EOP but all sorts of weird and wonderful shit) throughout the nineties and Italian football has seen various other doping positives through the 2000's.

Really "coincidental" that Ranieri was also in charge of the Monaco team too.

The physical performance improvement in Leicester as a group has been astounding.

What was the deal with Monaco?

Mapei were the self-styled 'cleanest team in cycling' in the 90's (although that's a bit like saying you're the best singer in the Spice Girls) but many of their riders failed doping tests and there were reports of systematic doping across the team. Squinzi always insisted it was sabotage, or people trying to discredit and smear his team.

So is this another entry on the long list of 'strange and unlucky events to derail a Tottenham season' ?

Lol

If this is proven and Leicester win the league but are stripped of the title would you be happy to be handed the trophy?

Have you seen the Mapei sports lab connection made anywhere in the UK media ?

Of course.
If... IF there is any evidence that Leicester City have fielded doped up players and are punished by a points deduction and IF we are the team sitting in second at that time, then we will have deserved the title. However I do not for a second believe this is what will happen. Nor would all teams get 3-0 walkovers as it could drastically change the landscape of the league, determining who stays up or gets into Europe etc...

I am frankly doubtful as to the validity of these claims, at least to such an extent that anything can be proven in time to affect this season. If anyone, it will be fringe players at clubs and who clubs can prove acted off their own volition and will be suspended. These clubs perhaps might face fines as a result, though I reckon even that is a stretch.

Just doing a bit of digging, apparently in December the Mapei Sports Center (sic) began a partnership with the now Trek-Segafredo cycling team. When the team was founded in 2011 as Leopard Trek their directeur sportif was a certain Johan Bruyneel, ds for US Postal during all seven of Lance Armstrong's 'wins', and their team leader Fränk Schleck was disqualified from the Tour the following year for failing a drugs test.

Always have a mark against it. I want to win it properly. Empty victory. No doubt if it happens then I won't give a shit while I drink bottles of champagne in the bill Nick.
