Thai moneyman Thaksin Shinawatra has promised Sven Goran Eriksson a January war chest - with unsettled Dimitar Berbatov top of his wanted list.
The new Manchester City owner is ready to splash out £20m for Berbatov who appears resigned to leaving Tottenham.

Shinawatra has told Sven Goran Eriksson he will hand him a January transfer kitty to fire Manchester City into Europe.

The chairman told the News of the World: "We will invest in the team in the January window if we see the right player at the right price.

"I know that Sven has some ideas and I will continue to give him the support he needs."

Eriksson could also move for Tottenham keeper Paul Robinson, who could move for £6m.

JUANDE RAMOS is willing to sell Paul Robinson — and Manchester City are ready to pounce.

The new Tottenham manager wants to put his own stamp on the team as soon as possible.

And he will be open to January offers of around £6million for England goalkeeper Robbo, 28.

I hope he stays, and its is from the sun so im not even worried about this for now.

If the repors were correct that Robbo is picking his own coach then i cant see us selling him at any point soon.

I'll wait for Ramos to whip the defence into shape first before writing the obit on Robbo's WHL career. If possible.

I watched him all last year in Scotland and he's very raw. Maybe he'll develop into a top class Keeper like his dad but he might equally well turn out as Jordi did to Johan.

Who's been loaned to Falkirk for the rest of the season.

Cardiff

From what I've seen Kasper is completely living off his Dad's name :? Very dodgy with balls into the area... doesn't strike me as being anything like his Dad.

I was having one of my Alzheimer's moments. It was Falkirk last season, wasn't it?

And, as you say, there's a very good reason for that. I certainly wouldn't swap Pat for him.

A very good keeper would really help the defence right now. Robinson just adds to the confusion with his hesitancy and flappability. Also hasn't saved a shot from outside the box since February 2003.

Shay Given not in goal for the Toon again today, he is easily one of the best in the league and would be a great signing for us if Juande was to get rid of Robbo.

6million? Blimey, I'd take that.

And Robbo would be much better at City. Slightly less profile and I actually think he'd have more shots to save, which he is good at (despite that amusing stat from BC - what next - Zokora hasn't missed a penalty since Year 8 at High School?). He was at his best for us when he was much busier.

Personal preference would still be to see him get some proper coaching and produce the goods for us again though. Rather like James last season, I think Robbo will still come good again.

Which is coincidentally the last time you said something sensible.

I hope he stays. Its important to have twi tio keepers at the club. I can't see robbo wanting to leave anyway.

Who went on to play for some of Europe's Elite and won a Champion's League medal?

Sounds alright to me..
