Lamela does look like a meth head, to be fair.

He has the look of a dragon chaser as well. I bet he goes all Adebayor's brother and steals the lads phones in the changing rooms after matches,
Agreed Lamela does look like a druggie
But I think we are referring to Yedlins mistake.

Serious? Believe it or not, I don't think lamela is really a smack head.

If it makes you feel better I Will whip myself later as penance. Repent and thou shall be saved.

Excellent, at least I now know for sure that I need not take your posts seriously. Cheers for the heads up (y)

I was away at the weekend and didn't get round to watching the Sydney game until last night.

There was a couple of minutes around the 8th minute that encapsulate Townsend. He breaks with the ball and 3 or 4 players make lung bursting runs to break with him and get themselves into the box to give him great options, he doesn't lift his head, cuts inside and whacks the ball 30 yards over the bar. Then Kane puts him through behind the defence, Eriksen is standing alone waiting for a cut back and all Townsend can do is pass it to the keeper. Even in a friendly, with the pressure off, Townsend makes the same infuriating mistakes. Even in this friendly you could see the stark difference in the way Townsend and Lamela close down opponents. Townsend learnt his pressing from Lennon, making a show of sprinting toward the player but then over running or never quite making it, so the player just jinks away, Lamela by contrast seems to relish the tackle - almost too much sometimes. Lamela was pretty busy again, much of it erratic and wasteful but at least the fucker gets stuck in when things aren't going great, always a redeeming feature.

I can't make a rock solid case for Lamela having a future with us, he's still very erratic, but he's so much less annoying than Townsend who is football purgatory to watch, the worst of all combo's, the boy has some ability but he invariably wastes it in the most infuriatingly witless way, and then fucks about like a turtle in a windsock without the ball letting the opposition run rings round him.

Bentaleb was poor at LB defensively. But he shouldn't be there. But he also had some good moments throughout the game.

Stand out last night was probably Winks. The boy made a couple of mistakes but his head never went down and just got better and better. He was really busy, constantly looking for the ball, keeping it moving and making good decisions. The boy oozes dynamism and quality.

I thought Yedlin had a pretty decent game as well. Again, made a couple of mistakes, but also made a couple of great defensive interceptions and got forward really well.

It was a shame KWP didn't get any game time as a RB, but the fact he equipped himself so well at LB bodes well for his character.

There was a lovely move involving Winks and Carroll.

Time to adjust culturally, then yes he has had two years to adapt. Wouldn't say that about playing though... But then remember Yedlin is a native English speak and in some cases that can enormously help out and ease the integration.

So it probably comes down too not being able to compare at all as both are adapting completely differently to different circumstances.

Guess who said that football speak is one dimentional and in truth is a "universal language"?

In order to assist you here is a clue or three:

He was born in Santa Fe Aregentina

He plays in Sapin

His name begins with the leter "M"

No second guessing here folks................................................

WTF are you going on about?

Just admit that you have one set of rules for players you like and another set for players you don't. It's ok, most football fans contradict themselves all the time.

Don't hate what you don't understand.

This is my feel why Bentaleb plays LB at times recently. MoPo wants Bentaleb to have first hand experience of not have enough cover while playing LB. I believe when Bentaleb understand this by experiencing first hand, the left side will be stronger/solid next season.
