I bet you're right IOMLS. The competition is still going on until tomorrow, so I wonder if most nations aren't obliged to hang around until then. The French must be amongst the most likely to do so, anyway.

Which would coincide with when Ramos started. Ramos has probably seen very little of Taarabt yet, so I would be very surprised if he has already formed an opinion on him, certainly to the extent where he would be sure he was going to leave.

It would also seem strange for Adel to say he wants to leave because he isn't playing first team football. He has probably only been with the squad for 2 games under Ramos, if indeed he has returned from the academy yet.

...

You spelt his name correct.

Shame on you.

Less his being criticised, far more his being decreed Spurs' Great White Hope on very little evidence.

Beautifully put SS57. I'm not so much criticising Taarabt, more trying to be realistic in the face of what I feel is an over-inflated opinion of him by a large number of spurs chatters.

To put the guy in the same sentence as Ronaldo or Zidane is utterly ludicrous. Has Zidane been retired too long for people to remember just how fucking horrendously brilliant he was? He was a once in a generation player! And remember that first time Ronaldo ran on at Old Trafford - the searing pace, the lightning quick feet? That kid was a diamond, rough around the edges and just needed a little polishing. The only thing he has in common with Zidane is being born in North Africa.

Taarabt is a decent talent and he could be very good with the right coaching, but right now he is not good enough to be playing for us regularly. Ramos seems to be doing good things with Lennon, so we'll see what happens, but in my view Bale is a far more exciting prospect and their price tags reflect that.

A future Ginola? Possibly. A future Zidane? God no!

He didn't get that many chances under Jol.

So Jol didn't risk him and Ramos (as of now) has not risked him

Maybe he should go away and ask himself why two separate managers have not played him, then maybe work on that.

Ffs people, Adel Taarabt is an eighteen-year-old kid living in a foreign country (as Kaboul's cook), and he's been away from the club representing his country in a prestigious youth tournament. Ramos will not have had much time, if any, working with him.

But what Taarabt needs is not people on here writing him off. He needs Ramos to do what Berbatov has described: ie talking with him one-on-one, identifying his strengths, and defining a role for him.

We all know Taarabt is talented and, at the moment, seems to prefer a stepover to a pass. But that's about decision making, and our skills trainer, Ricardo Moniz, has apparently already been working on this. Let's give Ramos time to work with the kid, including sending him out on loan for first-team experience if he judges that necessary.

Remember, Zidane didn't really 'come good' until his mid-twenties.

Tarbuck is still just 18.

I think we all just need to accept that Trabant has a lot to learn, but has some talent. The key thing is whether the comments attributed to Tarantula are real or whether it is purely the media being arseholes. If he hasn't said that then I fully expect to him to develop well under the new management.

Adel has come back though because he was in the squad that travelled to israel.

Spot on mate - if Taarabt is going to be a proper European number 10 he certainly won't develop until a fair bit later in his career. I just wish people would stop calling for him to be thrown into the Premiership straight away and just let him develop in his own time.

Thats the starting 11 and 7 subs, theres more than 18 players that would be in the travelling squad, in case of injuries, so ill repeat again he was in the squad for Israel.

put him in the 1st team squad until Jan

if we're 3 goals up put him on for a bit

that is where he will earn his pay, his stars, and a place in the 1st team

if we can't do this and he doesn't show a willingness, it's over. byeeeee

Why, if he's not cutting it for the ressies?

For the moment, with the exception of Prince Bong, JR is going to be dependent on Clive's recommendations for ressies who deserve a turn in the squad; that's almost certainly the reason Troy Tempest's inclusion on Sunday. Everyone who's seen much of Sevilla reckons that effort comes first for JR.

Show ponies are out.
