Has so much potential as a CM, can make other midfields look stupid at times with his dribbling and control and ball retention. But still raw, so for me it'd be all about how cheaply we could get him. 50M would be nuts after only one year in the top flight. He gives the ball away ugly from time to time. Passing vision and range not quite there yet and certainly not at Winks' level IMO.

If we did get him one thing I would be excited about is his pace - he's faster than any of our current 4 CMs and has made some interesting runs into the box from central midfield at times for Lyon, just haven't seen much in the way of finishing when he gets there. But the natural combination of skillful ball retention and pace is one that can't be taught. It's what the Chavs thought they were getting with Bakayoko before Conte evacuated him on to the steaming pile of crap they fielded as a starting xi this year.

Anyways, all the N'Dombele rumours have me thinking about Poch's comments about how he wished he had coached Dembele when he was younger and healthier and how he could have been a world beater. Not saying N'Dombele has that kind of potential but I wonder what Poch is seeing (if anything)...

Cheers.
From what you wrote, it sounds like he's heading for Vieira territory as much as Dembele. Does this seem right?

Not sure yet. The comparisons to Dembele are all about his dribbling and shielding - the combo of those two things that a healthy Dembele does better than any other player in the game right now IMO.

Ndombele has shown some really strong dribbling and shielding in crowded areas and he’s young enough to make you wonder. And he’s done so against some good teams this past year in Ligue 1. But that’s also pretty much the only reason he’s on the radar of bigger clubs. He hasn’t proven himself as an elite passer or scorer or even, IMO, a real threat in and around the box. But he is quick and adventurous and willing to make runs that I’m sure Poch would like. So some raw tools are there for Poch to work with. If he wants him.

Well, I was wrong 24 hours and only 3 pages, and only 11 N' jokes. Proud of everyone, I expected much worse.

This bloke really does look competent.

I'd like to see someone come in to CM who can spray passes around aswell - de Jong, Jorginho, Shelvey-style.

On Herc's ITK on a player from Germany for this position - there doesn't appear to be a huge selection to choose from when you factor in age.

—Kevin Kampl at Leipzig
—Dahoud at Dortmund
—Weigl at Dortmund (tho he;s more of a DM)
—Tolisso at Bayern

Everyone else is too old or not much of a household name.

I'm hoping he's got his Bundesligas mixed up and it's Amadou Diawara.

Might be misremembering but think was said it's a 50m CM, no chance Tolisso leaving so must be Weigl from that list. Although Dahoud be interesting one, a lot cheaper than 50m had a poor season but is such a gifted footballer.

This guy would be ideal but isn't worth debating unless we work out the loan stipulations and whether we can get him. Need Levy to do what he did to southampton with Alder.

Replace Kyle Walker with Kyle Walker-Peters and then Dembele with N'Dombele. Cunning.

Please tell me there's another incredibly talented youngster out there called Cissoko.
I read something the other day about a 17 year old at PSG called Moussa Sissako. I burst out laughing.

Edit: just noticed someone has already posted the link. :D
