So its clear that Lyall gets info from the club though but it may not be accurate and is used more as a public bargaining piece? @Univarn

From the news desk of LOL in Chief - Lyall

http://www.skysports.com/amp/footba...-tanguy-ndombele-but-no-contact-between-clubs

Tottenham are interested in Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Sky sources.

However, Spurs have not made contact with the Ligue 1 club, contrary to reports in France on Monday.

Lyon do not want to sell the 21-year-old this summer, having just signed him permanently from Amiens after a successful season-long loan.

The France U21 international fits the profile Spurs are looking for to potentially replace Mousa Dembele, who is a target for clubs in China and Italy this summer.

Ndombele made 43 appearances for Lyon last season and was statistically one of the best performers in his position in the Ligue 1, and he impressed in the Europa League as Lyon reached the last 16.

Ndombele is on a list at Spurs with the likes of Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lille's Yves Bissouma, while others have recently committed to other clubs including Geoffrey Kondogbia, who signed permanently for Valencia last month, and Salzburg's Amadou Haidara, who has signing a new deal.

Spurs star Dembele, who is about the enter the final year of his contract, is believed to favour a move to China despite his representatives recently touring Serie A clubs Roma, Juventus, Napoli and Inter, according to Sky in Italy.
Thanks for sharing @Univarn

Think it proves, however light the links are we are looking at central Mid. from as many angles as possible, shame it's Lyall.

But from ITK here doesn't it sound like we have made contact with Lyon? Top and seemingly reliable French media reports that we have too.

Yeah sure. But I wouldn't say it's looking more likely just because Lyall has written a piece. He's well known for deleting stuff that turns out wrong. He could have just pasted that together from info in this thread, there's nothing new in it.

Yeah, I don't think thats the case at all. Its just another source to take with a bit of salt. He probably hears some stuff, now whether that is getting to him on purpose for negotiating purposes or not is up for us to decide.

For the amount of money we're talking about then this guy should be in the French WC squad. Just think we're being taken for a ride. Especially for a young (relatively) untested player. You have to be pretty darn sure he's close to the finished article for that amount.

Coincidently that's also my feelings about DeLigt, but that's another story altogether.

look at how strong France’ midfield is. Besides, this guy is what...21?

Why is Lyall Thomas being considered as ITK the guy has about as much knowledge as my curtains. If you throw enough shit at the wall something will stick

I don't think anyone considers him itk. Not everyone knows his wonky history though and it is fun to recap. I share his stuff, sometimes just because it is funny, because it encourages conversation and is relevant to the thread. And lately this section has taken more vows of silence than a monk convention. I gues the world cup is that interesting and our transfer rumors are not.

I think if we are going to get two midfielders, we should be going for one of this ilk along with Grealish and you would hope the money we are saving getting Grealish means we can get this over the line.

From the good ol youtube search certainly looks like a player who can pick up a ball from deep and be able to connect the defense to attack. Looks like he has the ability to dribble to beat the press, spread the ball wide and sneak some nice through balls which are all qualities we should want in the player we bring in. Would like to seem him dribble less though from the clips I've seen as it seems he dribbles into a group a decent amount.

Poch will guide him, he'd get turned over and learn in the end, hopefully quickly. And obviously be given more licence against the bus parkers to take a risk or two. Anyway, if Gomes does turn out to be our poison then we'd be treated more of the same tedious, tentative first halves where no-one tries anything ambitious. Except for Eriksen who's fking everywhere and deserves a bit more help.

Complete honesty, I've only seen the clips from you guys on here, but I can't tell whether this kid is gonna be an absolute world beater or an absolute disaster. He excites me, but I'm not sure we can afford a risky buy on a position we really need to be getting right this summer. I'll trust those who know better though.

How about you grow up and stop spamming the thread up with this nonsense?

Differences of opinion old boy. Can’t handle it can you? Cheer up, I am sure Poch is now onto the player with Levy to sign him at all costs so you won’t be disappointed.

I agree, it is really difficult to gauge the talent ceiling for Ndombele on the few clips we have all seen. I think he definitely has some potential and could develop into a good player under Pochettino.
The real question for me is if we do get him this summer where does he fit in to the first team and how long will it take for him to settle? I agree with many of you that Sanchez definitely exceeded all expectations in his first season but can we expect that from Ndombele? He could struggle to adapt similar to Aurier did and possibly not kick on until year two?
No doubt an exciting prospect, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out with our midfield targets this summer.
