Lloris
KWP/Aurier Toby Vertonghen Davies/KWP
Dier Winks
Lamela Dele Son
Kane

Gazzaniga, Aurier/KWP/Davies, Wanyama. Sissoko, Eriksen, Lucas, Llorente

Need to be careful with Eriksen's fitness. He hasnt been completely fit for a while so rest him for this one. Maybe think about rotating at FB. Vertonghen comes in for Foyth. Winks and Vertonghen retain their places for the NLD.

But can they do that all over the pitch? They still have some injuries and surely they registered x amount, and so a few might have to play, or at least travel?

Can't they just play academy players? I would be very surprised if anyone in their squad of 18 bar cech will play Thursday

I thought you have to register your squad before any European campaign begins? Not sure how many etc... So wouldnt think they could just play all academy players?

It’s just who drops out between Son dele eriksen for lucas and lamela. Remember Arsenal have to travel 4.5k miles on a Thursday so even though they will rest a few not ideal for them.

Poltava is 1514 miles from London.

Not sure how far I want us to go in the champions league/ europa league. I had a look at the December schedule. 7 games over 27 days.

Just no Europa League.

Great excitement finishing off PSV. But the thought of 4th and no EL wasn’t all that bad.

If we drop into the Europa, Llorente will be starting, as will a host of others who don't start regularly or make match day squads even.

That's the way Poch will roll, and if we go far then he'll treat it more seriously.

you register list A which is your normal squad of 25(max) and then list B which is your u21s. there's no rule saying that you can't just field a team from list B.

Ah OK, that's that then. Doubt any of their first team squad will even travel then.

Still cannot believe we lost to this lot last time out. Even a draw at the San Siro and a win Wednesday and we would have been through.?

Whatever the team, the NLD team must be unchanged from the Chelsea game (bar Vertonghen coming in). Warm up Vertonghen for the derby on weds but apart from that id be happy with most combinations. Just hope we get through it without any injuries

Really tough selection, given form and fitness. I would go with:

Hugo*
Aurier - Jan - Toby - Davies
Dier - Winks
Lamela - Dele - Eriksen
Kane
Harsh on Sissoko and Son, but both come back in for the NLD.

*It was only a one game ban right?

We bottled it against them and PSV. Now we’re likely out of CL
We still control our own destiny, beat inter by 2 goals and then beat a Barca who will likely rest players for the final match.

I remember when Wimmer stood in for Vertonghen for a few weeks and Vertonghen really wasn't that great when he came back. In fact Wimmer was very unlucky to lose his place IMO. Just putting it out there as a point to debate. Foyth can't play CL so I guess it's a moot point but I'm not sure Verts will step back in seamlessly.
