I think deadline day has taken a lot of peoples eye off the ball here but we have a chance of making a real statement of intent tomorrow. If we can beat Norwich there is a high possibility of the other teams dropping points and we will then be in with a real shout of doing something really special this season.

Lose and although some people will act like its the end of the world the reality is that it isn't. Theres so many teams beating the so called big boys that from now until the end of the season I think it will be twists and turns until the very end.

I dream of the unthinkable but would happily settle for 3rd place if it were offered right now.

I'd take 4th if you offered it now, tbh

Huge game tomorrow, win tomorrow and the Gooners will be under pressure on Sunday as we will put Watford to the sword on Saturday.

'It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low'

But 4th isn't aiming low. That was our aim at the start of the season. I'd love it as much as the next yid if we won the league but I can't see it.

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Wimmer Rose
Dier Dembele
Lamela Alli Son
Kane

Bench:
Vorm, Davies, Trippier, Chadli, Eriksen, Carroll, Bentaleb
Would not be shocked to see Bentaleb in midfield and Dembele in a more advanced role with Kane on the bench. Norwich have the second worst defence in the league this season so goals will come readily.

Saving our firepower for Watford should be the aim for the week.

We all know what will happen now that you've said this. :shifty:
They already shot their load against Liverpool, I think we'll be ok so long as the players are at least half as professional as they've been most of the season.

Way Chadli has been playing you would have him on the bench instead of Lameka who has been very poor the last couple of games? Last three games Chadli has scored in if my memory serves me right.

Question of fitness I guess; if they think Chadli can back up his performance 3 days later, then start him ahead of Kane and leave Harry fresh for the weekend's match.

We might not play any of those three and drop in Bentaleb, Mason and Onomah, but I suspect we'll just sub out Kane, Alli and Dier if things are going well early in the second half.

Don't agree with anyone who wants to bench Eriksen Remains our most creative midfield player Has real potential to produce game changing quality even when not at his best Class header to set up Alli wonder goal

It's more that he played 75 minutes two days ago.

So would you expect most players not to be able to play that simple header to Alli?

We all know Kane will start.

Yes. For the same reason I wouldn't play Yaya in ManC's 4231 most weeks - which is one of the reasons they are underachieving IMO - trying to accommodate their best individuals into a format that doesn't. The same reason I wouldn't have played Chadli for many games last season despite him being one of our more productive players.

I don't believe in making big compromises to the collective to accommodate the individual. Alli was largely very bad last week bar a moment of brilliance. He isn't going to produce that most weeks and we could easily have been losing that game last week before we won it. Most of what he produces offensively can be produced by others we have without the "bad" compromise in a 4231. He isn't a CM2 player - yet - and he isn't very good as an ALM or ACM for most of the time.

Now, in a 433 I'd have Yaya every week, and Alli would definitely be much more viable.

The thing is Bentaleb hasn't done anything for a long while to show he should be in there. Before being injured he put in a bunch of performances, several of which contained game changing errors, which had, for example, Walker done them he'd have been crucified by you, and then in the match against Colchester he also showed the same worrying lack of concentration, and in fact he's barely had a look in presumably because Poch doesn't feel he's up to it. With this in mind, my question is what on earth has he done to deserve being played ahead of Alli who put in a string of decent to fantastic performances since he got his place in the side? A player, who according to fans, pundits and the stats has been one of our stand-out performers this year, and in a team, that relative to all the other teams has been enjoying its best ever PL season! Basically, from where I'm sitting you can't argue that the team's been playing badly, or the player, or if you can there's zero evidence for it, and on the other side of the coin there's also zero evidence that the guy you want to replace him with has any form at all. It seems perverse even by your standards BC!

That seems an odd reading of Poch to me. Also, how come Lamela gets the nod over Eriksen and Chadli?

There was rumour doing the rounds yesterday that Norwich were suffering with a vomiting bug that has affected the large majority of their squad, has anyone else heard that and found out if it's true or not?
