I agree with the first part but would say Lucas and Lamela both have the ability to get behind teams with skill and some speed.

Yeah Lucas definitely but I didn't even put him into the equation just due to the fact that he's not getting minutes at the moment. Lamela I'm not so sure myself, on the odd occasion maybe but I personally wouldn't have had that as one of his traits. I don't see a lineup with Lamela, Eriksen and Alli for instance and think I'm glad Lamela is there as he can add some pace and get behind, that's different if I was to see Son or Lucas.

Playing 3 at the back has produced some of our best attacking performances, it's not a defensive formation, it depends on balance and it just so happens that we were better balanced playing the 3-4-3 last season.

I don't really advocate changing formation anyway, we should have enough to beat Brighton beating them with a 3 or a 4.

True but given the limitations of all of our full backs I’d rather play out and out pace and skill in both Moura and Son and not be reliant on our full backs offensively.

I suspect we'll be resting a few players. Son, Lucas, Wanyama, Aurier and Rose will all likely come into the starting XI. Kane won't be happy about it but I imagine he'll be on the bench, as will Eriksen.

Personally really hope Eriksen isn't rested. Last time we didn't have him was away to Southampton I think, no flow to our game at all and I definitely think no Eriksen was a large factor in that. Last thing we want is to slip up tomorrow and have Chelsea win on Thursday. Shouldn't be giving them a sniff of catching us at this point. I think I'd rather see him start, hopefully get the job done early and take him off.

Sod resting players, play the best team, get the game won. Can't go into utd on Saturday after losing 2. We need this to keep tabs on liverpool and pull away from Chelsea. Don't need any brain farts if Aurier comes in, tight ground and a loud crowd will get on his case like Palace did. We need a polished professional performance from us tonight and get City out of our system.

Really hope Poch rotates and rests as many as possible. The FA cup has to be a priority now.

I remember the game, and I remember how poor we were.

But - we also played a midfield of Dier, Dembele and Sissoko. You don't need to be a genius to see that we're going to create fuck all with that.

If Lamela and Lucas start I'm sure we'll have better results.

Fact is, we can afford to fuck up tonight, but we cannot afford to fuck up on the weekend. We have to manage the fitness of our players for that game, and I'd guess that other than perhaps Lloris, Vertonghen and Sanchez - Eriksen has played the most football in our squad this season.

Lloris

Aurier Alderweireld Vertonghen Walker-Peters

Wanyama Eriksen

Lucas Alli Son

Kane
Subs: Vorm, Davies, Dier, Sissoko, Dembele, Lamela, Llorente.

I'd have been tempted to rest Alli or Eriksen and bring Lamela in, but I think both will play. We need Eriksen's guile and creativity. Lamela could come in for Kane if he's rested and play as a false 9.

Be nice to see KWP for Davies albeit on the wrong side, but Davies has played a lot of football, and keeps him fresh for Saturday.

I like that team and I reckon that will be the team we play tonight.

I'd prefer Davies, just assumed Poch would rotate.

He would have done if Rose wasn't injured. May even see Vertonghen moved to left back tonight as I don't think he'll want to risk Davies with the Semi Final looming.
Maybe KWP but he struggled at left back in the FA Cup game (Newport from memory?).

He got hooked at half time, but he was no worse than many more experienced players.

Agreed but his confidence would take more of a hit than experienced players so Poch won't readily put him in that situation again.

He's played since then, and scored on his last appearance. I think his confidence is fine.
