Edgar Davids is the only additional injury concern for Martin Jol ahead of Saturday's trip to Fulham in the Barclays Premiership.

The midfielder has picked up a groin problem - on top of a bout of 'flu - and joins Ledley King (foot), Jermaine Jenas (ankle), Paul Stalteri (hip) and Mido (groin) on the missing list for Craven Cottage.

Martin reported on Friday afternoon: "Edgar Davids is out. He's got a little injury with his groin and had the 'flu, so he wasn't in consideration for Fulham.

"Ledley King is conditioning himself with the fitness coaches and will hopefully be back next week.

"JJ is also conditioning and looks good. I think he's almost there, he's 95 per cent and he could be in the frame next week.

"Paul Stalteri is getting better, he's healing quicker than we thought so he could be back in 10 days to two weeks."

"Mido will have a couple more training sessions and he might be back next week."

Ah well, Davids being injured hardly messes up our first team these days...

so we can conclude that team news = no news

hopefully neither daws not gardner pick up any knocks this weekend!

    But Stalteri does?

Thank God, no. Just saying what I said because Davids is a recent injury, unlike Salty who's been out for a while, so there are no more injuries to first team players apart from King and JJ to think about.

Wonder if they will risk JJ for the arsenal game?

Good to hear he is nearly back - I am still not completely convinced by him, but we have clearly missed him.

is that not sort of contradicting yourself? If he was useless then he wouldn't be missed. But if you do think he has been missed then he is clearly of use to the team.

Our CB cover is alarmingly thin on the ground. Dwason and Gardner need to steer clear this w/e. Otherwise our back four against Arsenal could be interesting.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder? The long lay-off for JJ has made me appreciate his qualities alot more. While he lacks a crunching tackle , we've certainly missed his attacking qualities , his box-to-box energy and his ability to score goals from midfield. I'd have him in the side alongside the Hudd every game at the moment . We've really struggled at times with the long term absence of Ledley , Keano and JJ . Hopefully the team news will be much more positive in the next couple weeks . I too am worried about Daws and Gardner staying injury free this weekend .

I still can`t workout why we let Davenport go!

The 2 CMs against the Scum should be JJ and Zokora. Good as Hudd is, the Scum's fleet-footed MF will run rings round him. This is perhaps the only team I won't play Hudd against.
