Dimitar Berbatov and Aaron Lennon are back in the frame for Sunday’s Premiership cracker against Manchester United at the Lane. It’s a boost for Martin Jol following the news that skipper Ledley King faces another six to eight weeks on the sidelines with his foot injury.

Dimitar has missed two games after picking up a groin injury in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final against Arsenal last week while Aaron was a late withdrawal from Wednesday’s second leg at the Emirates because of illness.

Jermaine Jenas is expected to recover from an ankle knock but Teemu Tainio remains out - he’s been hit by a throat infection.

Martin reported on Friday: “Dimitar Berbatov and Aaron Lennon are back in full training, so that’s very good news.

“JJ is having a scan but I think he will be fine and Teemu has a throat infection, so that means he’s unlikely to play on Sunday but he has recovered from his foot sprain.

“Of course, Ledley will be out, that will take another six to eight weeks and that’s a blow.”

Having Berby back is a real bonus. I hope he is fully fit though, no point rushing him back if we don't have to.

Lennon was always likely to be back as it was a stomach upset. I feel much more confident going into the manure game with those two back.
  2. Rooga
At least Berbatov is back. I think we'll do very well to get a result out of Sunday's game, but it is at the Lane so who knows.

Having read about the King, Berbs is a blessing in discguise ! I really hope we do get a result ! Time now for Gardner or rocha to life there game !

has anyone kept count of how many different injuries/illnesses that have kept tainio out since he joined? it's quite unbelievable!

    Tanio etc

I think Tanio is followed around a small squad of spammer reserve players - it is there job to make sure he hurts his foot, or gets a throat infection, or bangs with thumb with a hammer. It is the same crack squad that sprinkled a three week old big mac in the lasagne the night before the last game of the season. They are tricky and have borrowed Harry Potters invisible cloak to avoid detection - cheeky bar stewards. I say keep Rocha and Daws in the team and use Tony to keep away the spammers from messing with tanio. just a thought.

    berbie is better than herbie

We can really give Manure a good crack this weekend - having Berbie and Lennon back is HUGE (hence capital letters).

    Robbo
    Chimbo Daws Rocha Lee
    Lennon Hudd JJ Steed
    Berbie Defoe

    Lets razzle those red devils.

Truly excellent that Berbatov is back. We can seriously get a result with both him and Lennon available.

It's so that the even better news at 5.55 on Sunday doesn't come as too much of a shock!

Someone should tell Rocha it gets easier after this. Been a bit of a baptism of fire for him!!!!!

Ha! Positive vibes..... are you sure you're a Spurs fan?

Can see us doing a good job on Sunday against the Reds. Bouncebackability!

Despite our indifferent form this season, with berbo and lennon in our team we can beat any team, home or away.

Berbo is just class and allows us to vary our approach play. Lennon just has that ability to beat anyone and get a cross in. Unlike last season you cannot mark him out of the game, he WILL get past you at some point in a game.
  15. rooster1
What ! You mean Tanio has a headache !!!
  16. JoeT
I see that Mido is suspended; wonder who we will have on the bench to cover Berbatov.....Barnard perhaps?????
  17. addyben
    I thought BarnYard was injured?
I liked the look of his game last season.

If you are a spurs fan you have to be optimistic. there is nothing worse than listening to 606 and having to wade through a bunch of moaning and biatching football fans.
  19. rooster1
That's the infamous devil's radio 666 you mean.
