INJURY NEWS

Mido has recovered from his groin injury and is back in the squad to face Charlton on Saturday - perfect timing with his fellow striker Robbie Keane facing up to six weeks out.

source - official site

Robbie strained the medial ligament in his left knee just minutes after netting the winner against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night and Martin Jol revealed a double-whammy on Thursday with the news that Jermaine Jenas' ankle injury will force him out for up to four weeks.

Martin reported on Friday afternoon: "Mido is back from injury and he looked well in training, so that's a good thing for us.

"Robbie will be out for up to six weeks with his knee but hopefully he'll be back earlier because he's someone who can heal quickly. JJ is out for four or five weeks, that's a blow for us after he just came back from injury.

"Hossam Ghaly's suspension is over and he's back in the squad but Didier Zokora is now suspended for three games and misses Saturday."

Anthony Gardner (knee) also misses out.

So I suppose theres not much debating to be done over the team this week:

Robinson

Chimbonda King Dawson Lee

Lennon KAiser Ghaly Malbranque

Defoe Berberino

Lennon will need a rest at some point, and if Jol actaully decides keep him on the bench here I wouldnt be compleatly adverse to the idea (I'd just save that for a battling away day performence).

We really need to pick up more points than just about everyone (come at least 5th in the form league) over xmas and new year if we're to have any hope of finishing top 5 and the end of the season. We can have just ok form any more, we need actuall good form. For that one of the things we need to rely on are certain midfielders that have question marks over their heads; lets hope at least some of them come good.

I'm not so sure Ghaly will start. I think Davids would be a good shout as Charlton may try to out muscle us. Plus they'll play 5 in midfield.
3. StuckinPoland
Same team as against Boro but with MalB in centre in place of Zokora and Ghaly to play on the left.

Robbo,
Chimbo, Dawbo, Kingbo, Leebo
Lenbo, Huddbo, Malbo, Ghalbo
Berbo, Defobo

Cernybo, Midobo, Tainibo, Assou-Ekottobo, Murphbo (i hate him, but who else is there?)

If lennon needs a rest at some point and i dont disagree with that then we should rest him in an away game where we will get beat anyway. if were gonna be negative and beef up the midfield an away game is the one to do it.

Perfect timing for Mido´s return, as we just lost Keane.

I believe it would be a good idea to start with Hud and Murphy in the middle. Players mostly do better than usual against former clubs. As Murphy still got loads to offer - he just needs his confidence back - it could also kickstart the rest of his days at Spurs.

Robinson

Chimbonda King Dawson Lee

Lennon KAiser Ghaly Malbranque

Defoe Berberino

agree maxi thats the team to get us the 3 points.!!!!!

excuse my ignorance but who is the kaiser is it the hudd by n e chance
8. Pillbug
Huddle

yah. For some reason he was flapping his gums about Beckenbauer and got everyone all Kaiserized.

Really, if I were incharge of doling out nicknames, I thought 'Huddle' .. as in Hoddle, was good.

Ah, well, Kaiser is good.

I'd change Ghaly for Tainio... or is he injured?
10. Shirtfront
Same team as Boro but with Davids centrally. We need more bite than Ghaly gives us, but he should stand ready to come on if Davids tires.
11. ridouche
I really do not understand this fiction idea that any team in the league can outmuscle us. That gives me the impression that we have a bunch of menstruating females and the club went to a whore house to but the players. Get real, look at Mido and Zo(ko)ro! They will kick ass from WHL to Kensal rise and Chimponda was born to a warrior father in Africa, esso ekotto nearly killed someone in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />France because he did not shake his hand. king and Dawson eat Zebra's for their breakfast courtesy to Ghaly's uncle who is a hunter, and ghaly has been seen swimming the times from cutty sark to south-end just to say hello to his Egyptian friends that cross the channel illegally every Wednesday. So now, bring Charlton and the rest because we are not sissies as some fans might want to believe.

TT and ghaly would also be quite useful. We have the personel, we just need to get the blend right away from home.
13. yid-down-under
I'd make just the one (enforced) change from Tuesday, with either Murphy or Tainio in for Psycho Zokora.

Resta few players on Thursday, we need to move up the league a bit
14. zoow
Include Murphy. He will face his old club. Probably will give us a cutting edge on the field. But in the mean time, would love to see Malbranque as well.
Both are our creative players and have eye on goal. This is the time where we will miss Keano. He can cover our midfield to add more muscle while those two players can go a bit forward.
15. Parmenio
frankly we are at home. The team with the players we have available picks themselves.

If we don't win this it will be a disappoinment, but not a disaster.
16. GDG
Frankly, if we don't win this one, it WILL be a disaster.
17. beejayspur
Lets be honest, if we can not beat virtually the bottom clubs in this league at home (Injuries or not) then this will be a total disaster
18. longdistancespursfan

i agree charlton have lots of players out injured too, this is the worst charlton team for many years there usually in the top 6 after this many games. apart from darren bent charlton are complete shit, he is the only one i would put in our team, rate him slightly more than defoe, no one else from their team would get in ours, who are there other 'star' players, andy reid and luke young. couldnt make the grade with us!
I think we have a better manager too so as long as our team are motivated and comiitted this should be an easy win, relegation fodder none of this bollox about them battling lets thrash them 5-0.
19. somersetyiddo
 assou-ekottobo wot a mouthful that becomes!
