Think we might see Kaboul instead of Dawson, B-C, simply because JR is going to want to see which is the less dodgy. I like Dawson, but he can be a dozy twat, and if Robbo and Salty hadn't been alert he'd have cost us two goals on Thursday. Speaking of Robbo, you may not rate him, but I can't see JR dropping him in favour of Cerny. Cerny is better at getting out and claiming crosses, but that's about it.

And Defoe for Keane? Rationale, please.

Neither Zokora nor Jenas is exactly floating my boat at the moment, so interchangeable, but Prince Bong may get his PL start.

Two weeks (allegedly) until King gets back…

Presuming Bale is fit then I'd like to see:

Robinson
Salty-Chimbo-Kaboul-Lee
Lennon-Boateng-Malbranque-Bale
Berbatov-Keane

Maybe an untried CM pair could be a bit risky, but I think it would be worth a try.

Robinson
Chimbonda---Dawson---Kaboul---Bale/Lee
Lennon---Boateng---Jenas---Malbranque
Berbatov-Keane

Chimboda is no better than Kaboul in the center, and Salty is inferior to Chimbo at the right back. Bale would make an ideal left back for Ramos as well.

I very much agree with what skb3 wrote, and I have been calling for Boateng and Zokora in central midfield.

I would also want to see Taarabt on the bench this time.

I think i was the first to suggest that we go for salty at the back and move chimbo in the middle, and was mentioning this for the middlesborough game. as kaboul was going forward too much and leaving dawson on his own. However if i had to pick one i would go for chimbo as better than dawson on thursdays game. so i would keep him in the side. plus he is useful for heading in attacking corners and free kicks. I Think we need to give Kaboul another chance, im sure being dropped was a message to him, and im sure they have told him in training the reasons why.

Jenas is in the team to do the holding role, though i would also be fine with Tainio doing it. The rest of the midfield and attack pick themselves at the moment.

Put Malbranque on the right, as you cant realy drop him just now. Bale in on the left with Kaboul in midfeild instead of Zokora.

Lennon droped untill he can cross a ball.

Dude, we normally agree on everything, but this is shocking. I think the criticism Lennon has been receiving of late has been very harsh. We only have one player who can cross in our squad, which is Bale. Should we drop everyone else as well because they can't cross? Also, most of the time Lennon has no one in the middle to aim at, or if there is they are completely outnumbered and finding one of our players is virtually impossible. We need Lennon as an outlet, dropping him would be silly. He'll only improve with game time.

I would love to see Malbranque in the middle, with Bale and Lennon on the wings, more of KPB as well please Mr Ramos.

Why is it shocking?

I think a midfeild with Malbranque, Lennon and Bale might be left a bit exsposed. And i dont know how Boatang will cope as a holding/defencive midfeilder.

Malbranque has a better cross than Lennon, and Routledge had a good cross on him, but Lennon has never been the best at finding a traget.

For me i would stick with Malbranque on the wings and with a choice of Bale, Malbranque and Lennon, Lennon is the one that makes way.

IMO Bale has been our best player, and Malbraque has produced his best football for us this seaons in some games where Lennon hasn't been as much of a threat as we have seen of him before.

Lennons been back 3 or 4 games, and has been decent in all of them, the reason Lennon looks poor soemtimes is often down to the centre of our midfield being so shocking. He needs the team to play the ball for him to run onto, so often we don't play to his strengths.

If Malbranque is playing on the right or in the centre in a 4-4-2, I really can't see him and Lennon in the same lineup. It would make us too lightweight and difficult to challenge for aerial balls.

Bale isn't fit - check the official site.

I'd like to see Kaboul back in the side as Stalteri offers nothing going forwards - his crossing is unbelievably poor.

First off, I ummed and arred about who to partner Boeteng with out of Jenas and Zokora. I went for Zokora just because Jenas has been a bit ho hum last couple of games and Zokora can at least drop a shoulder and go past the midfield sometimes which might be handy if it is an attritional battle.

Again the Keane/Defoe thing is close. For me, at home, there is nothing to chose betwen Defoe and keane in terms of what they give the team. Keane has been scoring regularly but the team has rarely won those games so it is a bit of a tricky one. Sometimes I like the more direct approach of Defoe than the fannying about of Keane. If Defoe could just learn to play off the shoulder of Berbatov as well as keane does I think he would profit. It is my biggest grumble with Defoe. As much as I don't overly rate bent and didn't want us to spend the ridiculous 16m on him I also think that at some point the Berb/Bent combo will happen and might be interesting. It migh even happen tomorrow.

As far as Robinson goes, I just don't rate any aspect of his game other than his upfield distribution occasionally. His hesitancy causes panic amongst the defence. Even if you don't think he is to blame for the many mnay long shots he concedes, he at the very least is fucking jinxed and deserves dropping for that alone.

Just heard that bale is still out so that means Lennon in and Malbranque on the left for me.

Robbo

Lennon Kaboul Keane Malbranque
Bent Berba

Or even routledge ont he right, Lennon in the middle and Keane instead of Bent. I think we really need to go for it against Wigan, because basically, they're shit.

I would like to see Ramos pick this team against Wigan.

I agree with your line up - particularly because you leave the lack lustre JJ out. But, so as not to offend the footie gods ramos MUST start the same 11 that won in the last game. Bad karma to mix and match coming off of a win. Just sub JJ out in the first half...

What I would like to see

.......................Robbo......................

Salty..........Daws......Chimbo..........Lee

Lenny...........KPB.........JJ............Steed

..................Bent.......Keane................

Cerny, Kaboul, TT, Berbs, Defoe

However I think that Kaboul will play instead of Salty otherwise we seriously have to think about how much height we have.

I also think that Berbs will getthe nod over Bent.
