to be honest, first time in a a while, not too fussed if its a weakened team out tonight. Too many injuries already this year, with a very busy schedule coming up. Its just a shame the game is a derby, won't hear the end of it from that lot
Until we smash them in the league in February and put them 8 or so points behind us

Gazzaniga
KWP Toby Sanchez Davies
Dier Winks
Lamela Eriksen Son
Kane

Vorm, Rose, Sissoko, Skipp, Lucas, Dele, Llorente
Well the latest of both Dier and Jan out till January and seeing the fixture congestion coming up

Gazzaniga
KWP Sanchez Foyth Davies
Skipp Winks
Lamela Eriksen Son
Llorente

Vorm, Rose, Sissoko, Marsh, Lucas, Dele, Parrott, Kane

I think only Rose on the bench cover our bases if a forced change arises in the back. Some youth available and fire power to bring on if we need a goal. Kane gets a rest to make sure he’s firing for the busy period.

My guess:

Gazzaniga
KWP Alderweireld Foyth Davies
Sissoko Winks
Lamela Eriksen Son
Kane (if man flu too serious -> Moura with Son up front)

The only plus of Arsenal winning is that it would pretty much stuff them in regard of top 4. They’d have an extra 4 high pressure games with Europa 32 and 2 leg semi. That’s without getting to final and then missing a PL game and having to play catch up. Obviously in theory I’d love to win it but it really is a poison chalice in terms of top 4 bar being City. Everyone that’s got to semi in last few years has struggled re top 4 bar city. And the carabo/europa combo is near enough impossible.

United literally did the Carabao/Europa 2 years ago

I'd put Kane on the bench for this. And ideally we'd be in a comfortable position later on to bring Llorente rather than Kane on.

----------Gazzaniga
KWP - Foyth - Sanchez - Rose
---------Sissoko - Winks
--------------Lamela
Moura------------------Alli
--------------Son

I can assure you that I'm not remotely scared of our full strength side losing to a weakened Arsenal team but I can see why you might think that based on what I wrote.

Truthfully, I don't rate Arsenal at all this season. Quite frankly I have little interest in what they're doing whereas I think our fans waste a lot of time and energy still hating on them. I prefer to focus on what we're doing and frankly we have more important things to be focusing on than the frickin League Cup.

I think there's this idea that the media will stop criticising Poch for not winning something if we just went and won a League cup but I don't believe for 1 second that will happen. We'd win it and Spurs fans will say "give Poch some credit now then?" and the response from roval fans and the media will be "It's only the league cup".

IMO Arsenal don't matter anymore. We are moving past them in every respect as a club and the trophies will come. Their reaction to beating us in the league said everything to me about how small time they've become and the fact that they are still 5 points behind us so quickly afterwards is testament to that.

Laughing at @scat1620 for taking the time to come back and disagree with this post.

Hands up though, I was wrong on every level on this one. Arsenal didn't rotate and we therefore didn't really rotate either and considering how good I felt after the game, I'm glad we didn't.

I still think we need to give Arsenal less of our time and attention but reality is that beating them in any competition feels too good to not take seriously.

My bad.
