Lloris

Dier Alderweireld Vertonghen

Aurier Winks Dembele Davies

Alli Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Foyth, Trippier, Son, Sissoko, Llorente, Wanyama
I'd give Sanchez a rest after international duty and a busy start to his Spurs career.

We shouldn't need a proper holding midfielder for this one so Winks and Dembele should play to give us as much attacking impetus from deep as possible.

Aurier to start, although if we are struggling to break them down after about 50 mins or so I'd bring on Trippier to offer an alternative threat.

Quite a few options off the bench as well as we start to get players back from injury.

I’d worry about Sanchez if Columbia don’t qualify. They were within 2 mins of qualifying and conceded 2 injury time goals(both ospina fault). He looked absolutely devasted in interview I saw.whatever outcome tonight would be madness starting him with Real on Tuesday.

Don't expect Dembele to play from the start, hopefully 20 minutes at the end in mop up time.

Depending on Sanchez's availability:

Lloris
Toby Sanchez Jan
Aurier Winks Dier Davies
Alli Eriksen
Kane

or

Lloris
Aurier Toby Jan Davies
Winks Dier
Eriksen Alli Son
Kane

Alli almost playing off of Kane in either formation.

I take it you've never played football then? You never want to miss a game. Ever.

Mate do you really think we’re going to start resting players simply because they feel bad about losing a game?

Those are the type of players you want playing In your side anyway.

All depends on fitness and availability of players after internationals.

Think Wanyama is still out, but what about Dembele?

Sanchez and Son back in time?

That'll also mean they will sit back more if they have less attacking threat, which won't be good for us.

I agree. I was hoping Bournemouth would play like usual and come at us.

I'd take a boring England style one nil win though if offered now.

They wont have the players to do that. Burnley are a great deal better defensively than Bournemouth, and a mixture of us not turning up and Fabianski making 6 or 7 saves (no worldies, but they all count...) got Swansea a point at Wembley.

I personally don't think Howe would have enough time with his squad between the international break and Saturday to drill in to them a different style of play. He very rarely even changes the formation to go a bit more defensively when they're protecting a lead.

Accepting what I perceive to be the new reality that Dembele no longer has two games a week in him, I would prefer to rest him vs. Bournemouth. Think his presence will be VERY important for the Real matches.

Depends. If he is still half-crocked then it could well be a re-run of the Dortmund game, him having a fairly torrid time as Real pass and move around him. I wouldn't want us to be gambling with his fitness, he's up to speed or doesn't play.

Hardly a new reality. There’s been phases with us when he’s barely managed one game in a week. The fellas had chronic injury problems for most of his time with us,

Personally I’d have prioritised a top quality cm in the summer, and that’s even if we’d integrated Winks and Onomah this season more.

Give the guy a break hes a beast and THE GOAT! If dembele is ready to play then im very very happy. The day i see him back on the teamsheet i will be very very happy.

Moussa in the big games could be key. If fit he could dominate madrid in the centre of the park.

And lastly could somebody back all this crocked moussa stuff up with stats please? Yes he has injuries but so does every player. Hes probably been neae the top for appearances in the last 2 seasons?
