Same 11 that beat stoke...confidence is more important than rest....all in the mind imo,

Footballers are full of excuses if you let them get away with it....first few weeks of the season the excuse was they are not match fit, now after 16 games they are tired already, its all bollox imo.

Play Aurier,Rose and Lamela against City on sat when we will need more pace and energy.

He ran around a lot and looked a lot sharper than against Watford. But its a totally different game in the Premier League starting one than coming on at 4 or 5 nil up.
Of course it's different, but to me, it doesn't look like he is that far off. In fact, I think he should rather start now vs. an opponent of lower profile and be subbed off early in the second half, than to keep coming on when 20 minutes are left.

Poch on Lamela starting tomorrow: "Maybe, maybe. I still haven't decided. I will decide today for tomorrow. Yes he has a chance to play from the start tomorrow."

Based on form, I’d agree with you. However, is it such a good idea for his first start back in over a year be in such a massive game? Better for the first start be in a lesser match, IMO.

Meh - City is not a massive game. If we win, it won't make us title contenders, and if we lose it won't keep us from reaching top-4.

Losing to Brighton or Burnley would impact our chances at top 4....

I'd bring Lamela in for Eriksen for this one.

Chris needs a rest, Lamela should replace his creativity plus he is a taller body for defending their set pieces.

Strongest team v Brighton apart from resting Dembele. Might seem nuts, but they key to containing City is closing down Silva and de Bruyne and I think Sissoko might be a good option for that.

Totally agree with this. Sissoko's best games have been against teams that attack. Because whatever shortcomings he may have, closing down/harassing defensively/being a physical problem (guy is literally the strongest soccer player I've ever seen) ain't one of them. He makes sense against City precisely because of his unpredictability/wild-card-ness.

I want Serge, Rose and Aurier on at the Etihad for the same reason(s): we need to out-physical them, make them realize it's a war, not try and outplay them. They're just too good offensively to try and outscore them.
