The squad feels thin, again. The tough choices are trying to find worthy and appropriate bodies for key positions, rather than choosing between players on competing form.

Hugo
Dier Sanchez Vertonghen
Aurier Dembele Eriksen Rose
Lamela Kane Son

I can never make up my mind about Eriksen playing deeper - he either looks really effective or totally lost, and rarely anything in between. Same goes for Alli, so either of them could be given a go there on the assumption they’d push forwards.

I prefer “flying” wing-backs. I think they’re vital to the collective press, which we basically don’t do anymore.

Bench? Not bothered mate.

We desperately miss Wanyama and Toby as we all know, but Kane needs help/competition and we are crying out for a dominating CM who can read the game, pass the ball and create from deep, an Alonso-type ideally, but even someone a bit like Fernandinho would help the whole shape of the team.
I think a lot of fans are setting themselves up for a fall as rightly Kane needs competition plus we need a passer in midfield, which we won't get either again something I'm sure your aware but still others are hoping for a signing or two which will never happen.

What are you basing this on? Have you ever seen him play cm.
Foyth looked decent when he played the other week in a dead rubber in defence but is it fair to throw him in for his 1st premier League game out of position
Listen to the thinkster.

Certainly not in January, but a disappointing league finish this season and the move to the new stadium could convince Levy to support Poch with a couple of marquee signings in the summer, especially if we were to end up selling one or two of our best players for serious money (Rose, maybe Eriksen or Toby).

Dier played right-back for seventy minutes on his Spurs debut and did fine - and also instantly became a starter as a defensive midfielder, without getting used to the position in cups or off the bench.

Lloris. Trippier, Dier, Sanchez, Verts, Davies. Winks, Eriksen. Lamela, Kane, Son.

If Foyth does play as CM I'm now convinced ThinkTank is Poch

It would totally fuck with Dyche if we did something unusual and went with a 442, diamond formation. Would be the last thing he’d be prepared for:

Lloris

Tripps
Sanchez
Verts
Davies

Lamela
Dier
Dembele
Eriksen

Kane
Llorente

Whipped in crosses from Tripps and Davies. But I doubt Poch will do anything risky in this game. Will play it safe with 4231.

Lloris

Aurier
Sanchez
Verts
Davies

Dier
Dembele

Lamela
Eriksen
Son

Kane

Ideally it would be nice to keep our best players but yes I too can see a couple leaving, and like walker ending up winning a few things while we remain potless.

Walker must have figured out just as I did long ago that little levy is more interested in balance sheet than winning trophies

As did Modric Bale Berbatov Carrick before him

All these people have multiple winners medals in their cabinet while the one that stayed behind,Larry King have one that is full of moths

Yep can't disagree with you I'm sure a few others will leave and go on to be successful and others will leave and won't be obviously, but on the whole rose, Toby and erikson will go and earn a fortune whilst bagging a few trophies I can't blame them at all.

Can't work out if that's a joke or just disrespectful of the best Spurs defender (and one of the best players) of my liefetime but either way (n)

He only played at right back because naughton got sent off.
He also played dm in Portugal and all preseason in the 15/16 season and he was more experienced than foryth, so not really the same

We can always bring back janssen from his loan and play him a left wing another thinster light bulb
Was never tried, you have no idea if it would have had the desired effect and involved him more in games and integrated him quicker.

And my final resolution was to use at 10 behind harry to drop a little and hold it up and bring other into our attacks.

So....

So what??? You have no idea it would have worked. Lloris has never been played up front either, so would that work?

Absolutely. but I believe it would have helped us get a lot more out of him.

I have faith in my predictions/judgement, and more often than not I'm right.

If I'm ever wrong I have no problem owning it.

Fair enough.
A lot of the team
Predictions you make are so left field that they never happen to make you proved right or wrong.
Just out of curiosity what predictions/judgements have you got right?
