Based on everything I’ve seen; everything I’ve read; and from hearing the thoughts of well-respected football people.

Are we talking about the same thinktank here? To be honest if we were to try it out it would most likely be in a defensive 3 where he can move forward more.

And the ONLY reason Lamela isn't starting is his output midweek and need for him to be managed.
If Poch and his team think he can start bring him in for Dier or Wanyama.
Otherwise off the bench works well

Given Harry Kane's success when coming deep, I'd be tempted to stick Fernando up top and play Harry in the 10. Lamela and Moura as forwards either side of Kane. Rest Son. Play Winks and Dier in midfield. Wanyams looked like he was trying to avoid an injury against Barca.

----------------Gazza--------------
Aurier - Toby - Sanchez - Rose
--------Dier------------Winks-------
Lamela-------Kane-----Moura---
----------------Llorente-------------

I'd like to see Davies deployed as a LCB in a back three. None of our other CBs fill me with confidence playing on the left side, and with Jan potentially out for months (if his hamstring problem is as severe as Toby's was last season), blooding Davies in that position could prove quite useful if he takes to it.

He's played there for Wales and there is no easier opposition in the Premier League than Cardiff, so if I were Poch I'd test it out and see how he pairs with Sanchez and Toby.

There doesn't ever seem to be much thinking going on in that tank...
On the contrary I think there is "much thinking" going on in that Tank as @thinktank is thinking outside the box unlike a lot of you. May I remind you "To Dare Is To Do!'

Interesting comment by Poch at 18 mins here.

Clearly doesn’t rate Nkoudu too much.

I have faith in myself and my appreciation of the game.

That's all.

Would love him to get 3/4 games there this season to take a little look.

If he takes it'd be huge for the squad.

Quality passer of the ball.

If it didn't come off, then at least we were "brave".

Whilst many laugh at your including Foyth in the cm area. I think you're right. I wouldn't start him there straight off as you would, but as I said last year, when i saw him.at cb, my immediate impression was that he could be a 'complete' cm. His passing is excellent and he can carry the ball forwards.
Which is a gaping fisted hole in our current team. He'd be wasted at CB.

With injuries abound and Son needing an obvious time out, considering the upcoming fixtures and our injury list i'd go 4-3-3.

Lloris

Trippier Toby Sanchez Rose

Dier Winks Wanyama

Lamela Moura

Kane

More than enough to see off Cardiff. Subs bench to give rest as appropriate.

Davies replacing Vertonghen at left centre back while he’s out is the shout. Poch needs to stop changing formation every week and settle on one. Not many top teams continually change formation game after game. We aren’t getting any continuity and need to have a consistent run playing the same system.
I’ll always favour 3 at the back. People who think this immediately makes us more defensive are wrong. Plus we just don’t have the quality of full backs to play in a back 4.
I’d go...

That is interesting but also really fucking frustrating that we take punts on players like him N’Jie, Jansen and the likes when surely that money could have been used to push the boat out for that extra special player. For example we’ve pretty much wasted his £14 million transfer fee for him to play about 5 games. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I’m pretty sure that’s what Kovacics loan fee would have been for maybe 2 years?

I'd rather have an extra player in midfield to share the workload. 433 would be my choice of formation in this one and Dier can always drop into a back 3 if we are getting the wingbacks forward.

Wasted if his skills were only assigned for CB and he was left bum-on-bench most of the time with Verts/Sanch/Toby in front of him.

He's got the goods to become an incredible CB, too.

Huge prospect, huge talent.

Handled right he can be a crucial member of the squad for long time.

The DM/CB utility Dier could never be.

Which is a gaping fisted hole in our current team.

Exactly. I don't see why we should wait to try and address that (re. me sticking him in "straight off").

We will not buy in January.

Test the water with him asap and weigh it against our current MF contributors/product.

Do it early in the season and then you can plan off of it if it's viable.
