Don't understand the comments that Chelsea never turn up against us. The win record they have over us is not lucky.
Obviously it's not all lucky, 28 years is a long time. But in the last decade, more often than not, we've dominated them, and they have gotten lucky, more so than us.

I think I agree, no matter how well we do, even if we are one or two goals up we always seem to bottle it, i suppose the weight of 25+ years is telling ... but we gotta break it sometime
I'm not sure I agree that it's a mental thing. The team today, for the most part as indeed all teams inbetween are not saddled with this record. They were not there, throughout. The fans are the only ones carrying the burden, as we're the only constant at the club. Anyway, this terrible record won't last forever. So why can't we beat them now. We have an incredible team after all.

the only thing in our favour is that they now know how to raise the level they need to beat them; what i mean is we've beat /drawn some big teams away this season CL etc...that'll for sure influence their mindset

I used to love Clattenburgs face in this pic, like he can't contain his satisfaction at the pwopa nawtyness however after reading his comments on the event its clear his is only happy as he knows his plan worked. ****.

Hazzard IMHO is a classless twat and although I recognise he can be a game changer, when he decides to show up, hopefully this is not one of those games.
They (the team and Conte) are in disarray and now is the time to get our revenge.

Unfortunately he usually turns up against us.

In terms of our team I think it will be like usual but with Lamela in and Kane out. Son up top.

The odds for this game are really odd, you can get 16/11 on Chelsea and 2's on Spurs.

Have people not seen our record at Stamford Bridge? I'm shocked Chelsea aren't evens!

It's a silly thing but I kinda dislike that a draw would be a good result for us. Both teams know it. Somehow being the team that needs to win feels better. Like that team will be more driven. It is a stupid feeling really cos I wouldn't swap the positions now obviously.

We have a piss poor record at their ground so if we get a draw I'll be happy.
If we look at it in isolation and in the context of what it would mean for us and them in terms of our league position it would be hard not to agree with this because we would maintain a 5 point buffer on them, however when we look at in the wider context, if another season passes when we go without winning there since 1989/90 then quite frankly it gets more and more embarrassing, especially when you factor in the amount of games we have played at Stamford Bridge in the cup and the league, it doesn't even compare with a record you would expect say Brighton or Huddersfield to have at Old Trafford, where their last win thre stretches back decades, and they don't play Man Utd at Old Trafford every season.

We should all quite rightly feel some sense of shame as Spurs fans about this record, I felt much the same way in the 80s as a Spurs fan when that old stat about Spurs not winning at Anfield since before the Titanic sinking was brought up time and time again until Garth Crooks finally put that one to bed, it didn't matter how good Liverpool were at the time it was still embarrassing, and so is this sequence. It's high time we finally knocked this unwanted sequence squarely and firmly on the head, and psychologically it would do this team a huge power of good if we banished it to the dustbin of history.

If we lose and still finish above them and subsequently top four then you're more than welcome to be embarrassed about a meaningless match in the wider context, for me there's far more important things to enjoy/worry about than some one off match against Chelsea.

Chelsea’s weakness this season is their defence but they’re also dangerous going forward. There’s no point playing a solid team and looking to keep things compact and play for a draw or a 1 nil win... a bit like we attempted to do away at Man U.

We’re a team in cracking form and should stick to our guns and exploit Chelsea’s frail defence. With Kane most likely out and Alli looking unfit I’d look to boss the central midfield with Dembele and Wanyama, and play either Moura, Eriksen and Lamela behind Son or play Moura, Eriksen and Son behind Llorente. This will give us balance and pace on both sides which will both exploit their defence and keep their wing backs pinned back. It will also help provide cover to our full backs should we opt to play Trippier and Davies.

I've been wondering this really and I'm not sure, I've always thought there's not point in mentioning our history there when most years we go there, we have a somewhat different team. The only thing that remains the same each year is the mentioning of how bad our record is there and sometimes I wonder if that has some sort of psychological effect even if the team is different. I can't think how else our record can be so bad there, same with Anfield too.

You can even apply that this season.
We play them twice.
Home game. Our first fkin game of the season at Wembley. They honestly could not have wished for a better time to play us.
Away game. We have a 2 week fkin break for internationals when we were flying and they were having trouble and on top of that Kane is out.
I mean how bloody lucky is that?
I've said it before but imo they are hands down the luckiest team going.
