Hope Terry doesn't make it. He always seems to play well against us and wins everything in air.

I quite want him to play. He has a nice habit of getting sent off against us.

As for Pienaar, not sure what basis there is in his Spurs career so far to throw us into such a pivotal game against our main competitors in the league at the moment.

I certainly wouldn't be dissappointed by that Bubble, it still balances us nicely.

Just a question mark over his fitness? Maybe...

I would be.

Question marks over everything. Doesn't seem to be the player touted as a 'bargain' last year. I don't remember seeing him at Everton but kind of suggests that don't need to do much to stand out over there these days.

Hope he proves us wrong but I think it's no co-incidence that he's only just scraping onto the bench at a time when we have 2 of our best midfielders out

In a 442, Pienaar on the right.

In a 433, Van Der Vaart as the Right forward, Bale on the Left.

This would be my team. I feel this gives us the best chance of beating Chelsea, given the injury to lennon and the way Chelsea set up

5 - 2 - 1 - 2

..................Friedel...............
......... Kaboom Willy King........
Walker............................Bale
.............Sandro Parker..........
................Modders...............
...........VDV ..........Ade..........

I'd bring in Pienaar for Lennon personally. Mata v Walker is a concern for me and Pienaar can help out defensively when we dont have the ball but also, when we do have the ball, he naturally moves inside to give Walker the space to bomb on. Its what he did for Baines at Everton for years !

Good point, but he cut in from the left instead of the right and from my experience of playing football that makes a big difference as its difficult to shield the ball for a right footer.

That's because he has only come up against Crouch, the weakest man in football, Pav, the 2nd weakest man in football and Defoe/Keane, midgets.

I think Adebayor might give him a better challenge.

But seriously, he's been there forever, he's played against bundles more than those - Apart from the sending off, I always recall him playing well despite always thinking he's overrated. Also, I have to say, Ade hasn't particularly impressed in the air this season. Don't get me wrong, he's been a major factor in our awesomeness but I thought he'd be stronger in the air than he has been. Hopefully he'll show it Thursday, maybe along with a sly elbow in a Terry's face.

To be fair we haven't been playing alot of balls in the air this season and I reckon Adebayor has the beating of Terry on the ground.

The one thing we definitely have over Chelsea, even without Lennon, is pace so I hope we aren't having to rely on balls in the air too much.

Now I'll leave you to do as you will with the overuse of the phrase 'balls in the air'.

John Terry has to be one of the most over-rated players of the past decade. The past 18 months has seen a massive decline for him too. Coinciding with the sale of Carvalho, who maybe made Terry look half-decent for a few Championship winning seasons.

He was shocking against Wigan last weekend. Should have cost Chavski a goal, but they got lucky. If he makes mistakes like that against us we have to punish them.

Oh and David Luiz is a liability of a centre half too. Let's hope he plays alongside Terry.

If bale and king are fit, I'd be tempted to play this team:

------------------------Friedel-------------------------
Kaboul---------Ledley----------Gallas---------------BAE
Walker---------Modric----------Parker--------------Bale
----------------------VDV------------------------------
---------------------------Adebayor--------------------

I think we need to play with pace on both wings.

Do people really see Walker at RM?? I don't see him as anything other than a right back or centre back at a push. Can't see him on the wing myself.

very nice thinking but i think Sandro is a top top player and triffic as well.

Id stick with walker at RB and play VDV RW with Modric central infront of sandro and parker.

Terry was mom last year at the Lane.

This. Whilst it is clear he isn't anywhere near as good as the media make him out to be, he somehow still managed to be stellar against us last year. He'd still be their best bet to deal with Adebayor I'd guess.

Right I've taken the plunge. £5 bet. Sturridge to score first. Us to win 2-1. 80-1
